Riyad as-Salihin — Hadith #46373

On the authority of Hudhayfah, may God be pleased with him, he said: God Almighty brought a servant of His servants to whom God had given money, and He said to him: What have I done in this world? He said: And do not conceal a word from God - He said: O Lord, you have given me your money, so I used to pledge allegiance to people, and it was among my character to be permissible, so I used to facilitate the well-to-do and see to the needy, so God Almighty said: “I am more deserving of that than you, so ignore my servant.” Uqba bin said. Amer and Abu Masoud Al-Ansari, may God be pleased with them This is how we heard it from the Messenger of God, may God bless him and grant him peace. ((Narrated by Muslim)).
