Hadith #46870
Musaddad told us, he said: Yahya bin Saeed told us, on the authority of Ubayd Allah, he said: Nafi’ told me, on the authority of Ibn Umar, he said: The Messenger of God, may God bless him and grant him peace, said: They told me about a tree whose likeness is like that of a Muslim, which bears its fruit at all times by the permission of its Lord, but does not shed its leaves, and it fell upon me. The palm tree, so I hated to speak. Then Abu Bakr and Omar, may God be pleased with them, and when they did not speak, the Prophet, may God bless him and grant him peace, said: It is the palm tree. I went out with my father and said: O father, the palm tree fell upon me. He said: What prevented you from saying it? If only you had said it. He was more beloved to me than such-and-such. He said: The only thing that prevented me was that I did not see you or Abu Bakr. You two spoke, so I disliked it.
