Al-Adab Al-Mufrad — Hadith #47201

Ali narrated to us, he said: Marwan bin Muawiyah narrated to us, he said: Abd al-Wahid bin Ayman narrated to us, he said: Ubaid bin Rifa’ah narrated to us. Al-Zarqi, on the authority of his father, said: When it was the day of Uhud and the polytheists retreated, the Messenger of God, may God bless him and grant him peace, said: Stand firm until I am praised. My Lord, the Mighty and Majestic, so they formed rows behind him, and he said: O God, all praise is due to You. O God, there is none who can seize what You have spread, nor bring near what You have put away, nor He distances himself from what You draw near, does not give in to what You withhold, and does not prevent what You give. O God, extend upon us your blessings and mercy. And by Your grace and provision, O God, I ask You for eternal bliss that does not change or fade away. O God, I ask You for bliss on the day of family, and security. On the day of war, O God, we seek refuge in You from the evil of what You have given us and the evil of what You have withheld from us. Oh God, make faith beloved to us. And beautify it in our hearts, and make disbelief, immorality, and disobedience hate for us, and make us among the rightly guided. O God, let us die as Muslims, and give us life. Muslims, and join us with the righteous, not disgraced or tempted. O God, kill the infidels who turn away from Your path. And they deny Your messengers, and inflict upon them Your punishment and your torment. Oh God, fight the disbelievers who were given the Book, the God of truth.
