Mishkat al-Masabih — Hadith #49120

On the authority of Zainab, the wife of Abdullah bin Masoud, she said: The Messenger of God, may God bless him and grant him peace, said: “Give in charity, O women, even if it is of your adornment.” She said: So I returned to Abdullah and said that you are a light man and that the Messenger of God, may God bless him and grant him peace, had He commanded us to give charity, so give it to him and ask him. If that is enough, it will be sufficient for me. Otherwise, I should give it to others. She said, so Abdullah said to me, “Rather, give it to him.” She said. So I set off, and behold, a woman from the Ansar was at the door of the Messenger of God, may God bless him and grant him peace, fulfilling her needs. She said, “The Messenger of God, may God bless him and grant him peace, was there.” May peace and blessings be upon him. She said, “So Bilal came out to us, and we said to him, ‘Come to the Messenger of God, may God bless him and grant him peace, and tell him that two women at the gate are asking you, will you pay the charity on their behalf?’” Their wives and orphans in their chambers, and do not tell him who we are. Then the Messenger of God, may God bless him and grant him peace, said: “That is, the Zayanabs.” He said: Abdullah’s wife, and the Messenger of God said to him: May God’s prayers and peace be upon him: “They have two rewards: the reward of kinship and the reward of charity.” The word is for Muslim
