On the authority of Hanzala bin Al-Rabi’ Al-Asidi, he said: Abu Bakr met me and said: How are you, Hanzala? I said: Hanzalah hypocritically said: Glory be to God, what do you say? I said: When we are with the Messenger of God, may God bless him and grant him peace, he reminds us of Hell and Paradise as if we have seen it with our own eyes. When we leave the presence of the Messenger of God, May God’s prayers and peace be upon him. We have become indifferent to our wives, children, and farms. We have forgotten much. Abu Bakr said: By God, we will encounter something like this. So I set off. Abu Bakr and I until we entered upon the Messenger of God, may God bless him and grant him peace, and I said: Hanzalah has committed a hypocrisy, O Messenger of God. He said The Messenger of God, may God bless him and grant him peace: “And what is that?” I said: O Messenger of God, when we are with you, you remind us of Hell and Paradise as if we have seen it with our own eyes.
