Mishkat al-Masabih — Hadith #52178

On the authority of Ibn Shihab, on the authority of Anas, he said: Abu Dharr was narrating that the Messenger of God, may God bless him and grant him peace, said: “The roof of my house was removed from me while I was in Mecca, and Gabriel descended.” So he opened my chest, then washed it with Zamzam water, then brought a golden basin full of wisdom and faith, so he emptied it into my chest and then closed it. Then he took me by the hand and took me up to the lowest heaven. Gabriel said to the treasurer of heaven: Open. He said: Who is this? Gabriel said. He said: Is anyone with you? He said: Yes, with me is Muhammad, may God bless him and grant him peace. He said: Was it sent to him? He said: Yes. When our height opened to the lowest heaven, a man was sitting on His right hand is black, and his left is black. When he looked towards his right, he laughed, and when he looked towards his left, he cried and said, Welcome to the Prophet. The righteous and the righteous son. I said to Gabriel: Who is this? He said: This is Adam and these lions are on his right and on his left are the names of his sons, so they are the people of the right. Among them are the people of Paradise, and the black ones to his left are the people of Hell. When he looked to his right, he laughed, and when he looked to his left, he cried until he took me to the second heaven and said: To its keeper: Open, and its keeper said to him, as the first one said. Anas said: Then he mentioned that he found Adam and Idris in the heavens. And Moses, Jesus, and Abraham, and he did not confirm what their homes were, except that he mentioned that he found Adam in the lowest heaven and Abraham in the sixth heaven. Ibn Shihab said: Ibn Hazm told me that Ibn Abbas and Abu Hibbah Al-Ansari used to say. The Prophet said, he prayed May God bless him and grant him peace: “Then he ascended with me until I reached a level where I could hear the squeaking of pens.” Ibn Hazm and Anas said: The Prophet, may God bless him and grant him peace, said: “So he imposed God has bestowed fifty blessings upon my nation. I went back to that until I passed by Moses, and he said: What has God imposed upon you upon your nation? I said: Fifty obligatory prayers. He said: Return to your Lord, for your nation cannot bear it. So she returned, and he placed half of it. I returned to Moses and said: He placed half of it, and he said: Return to your Lord, for Your female slave cannot bear that. So I returned and returned, and he placed half of it and I returned to him and said: Return to your Lord, for Your nation cannot bear that. So I went back to Moses, and he said: There are five, and there are fifty. My words cannot be changed. So I went back to Moses, and he said: Go back to your Lord. So I said: I am ashamed before my Lord. Then he took me away until I reached the Sidrat al-Muntaha, and it was covered with colors that I do not know what they are. Then I was admitted to Paradise Then, therein are clusters of pearls, and when its dust is musk.” Agreed upon.
