On the authority of Ibn Abbas, he said: When the Messenger of God, may God’s prayers and peace be upon him, came and there were men in the house, including Omar ibn al-Khattab, the Prophet, may God’s prayers and peace be upon him, said He said: “Come, I will write for you a letter after which you will never go astray.” Omar said: The Messenger of God, may God bless him and grant him peace He was overcome with pain, and with you is the Qur’an. Sufficient for you is the Book of God. Then the People of the House disagreed and disputed. Among them were those who said: Come near, and it will be written down for you. The Messenger of God, may God bless him and grant him peace. Some of them say what Omar said. When they increased the confusion and disagreement, the Messenger of God, may God bless him and grant him peace, said May God bless him and grant him peace: “Get up from me.” Ubayd Allah said: Ibn Abbas used to say: The whole bad thing is what prevented the Messenger of God, may God bless him and grant him peace, from writing that letter to them. Because of their differences and confusion, and in the narration of Suleiman bin Abi Muslim Al-Ahwal, he said Ibn Abbas: Thursday, and what is Thursday? Then he cried until his tears soaked the pebbles. I said: O Ibn Abbas, what is Thursday? He said: The pain of the Messenger of God, may God bless him and grant him peace, became severe and he said: “Bring me a shoulder and I will write for you a letter after which you will never go astray.” So they quarreled There should be no dispute with a prophet. They said: What is the matter with him? He emigrated? They asked him and went to answer him. He said: “Leave me alone, for what I am in is better than what you are calling me to.” So he ordered them to do three things: He said: “Expel the polytheists from the Arabian Peninsula and allow the delegation to pass in some manner.” “I used to allow them.” He remained silent about the third, or he said it and I forgot it. Sufyan said: This is from the words of Solomon. agreed
