Sunan ad-Darimi — Hadith #54063

Hashim bin Al-Qasim told us, Shu’bah told us, on the authority of Saad bin Ibrahim, he said: I heard Muhammad bin Amr bin Al-Hasan bin Ali Radwan May God bless them both. He said: We asked Jabir bin Abdullah, may God be pleased with them, during the time of the pilgrims, and he used to delay the prayer from the time of the prayer. Jabir said: The Prophet, may God bless him and grant him peace, used to pray the noon prayer when the sun had set, the afternoon prayer when it was alive or pure, and the sunset prayer when it was due. The sun, and the evening prayer, may be hastened or delayed: if the people gather, it may be hastened, and if they are delayed, it may be delayed, and the morning may be delayed. They or he used to pray it silently.”
