Sunan ad-Darimi — Hadith #54224

Al-Hakam bin Musa told us, Haql told us, on the authority of Al-Awza’i, he said: Hassan bin Atiya told me, he said: Muhammad bin Abi told me Aisha, on the authority of Abu Hurairah, said: Abu Dharr said: O Messenger of God, the people of poverty have gone away with wages, they pray as we pray, and they fast As We fast, and they have plenty of money to give in charity, but we have nothing to give in charity. The Messenger of God, may God bless him and grant him peace, said: “Shall I not teach you some words that, when you say them, will catch up with those who came before you, and those behind you will not catch up with you except... Who has done something like yours? He said: I said: Yes, O Messenger God. He said: “At the end of every prayer, you should say ‘Tasmāhu lāha ḥillah’ thirty-three times, ‘ḥammadhuhu’ thirty-three times, ‘Allahu Akbarāh’ thirty-three times, and conclude it with ‘There is no god but Allah alone. A partner to Him, to Him belongs the dominion, and to Him is praise, and He has power over all things.”
