أَخْبَرَنَا يَحْيَى بْنُ حَسَّانَ ، حَدَّثَنَا سُفْيَانُ بْنُ عُيَيْنَةَ ، عَنْ زَيْدِ بْنِ أَسْلَمَ ، عَنْ ابْنِ عُمَرَ ، أَنَّ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ دَخَلَ مَسْجِدَ بَنِي عَمْرِو بْنِ عَوْفٍ، فَدَخَلَ النَّاسُ يُسَلِّمُونَ عَلَيْهِ وَهُوَ فِي الصَّلَاةِ، قَالَ : فَسَأَلْتُ صُهَيْبًا : كَيْفَ كَانَ يَرُدُّ عَلَيْهِمْ؟ قَالَ :" هَكَذَا، وَأَشَارَ بِيَدِهِ "
Yahya bin Hassan told us, Sufyan bin Uyaynah told us, on the authority of Zayd bin Aslam, on the authority of Ibn Umar, that the Prophet, may God bless him and grant him peace He entered the Mosque of Banu Amr bin Awf, and people came in and greeted him while he was praying. He said: So I asked Suhaib: How was he responding? On them? He said: “Thus,” and gestured with his hand.
