أَخْبَرَنَا خَالِدُ بْنُ مَخْلَدٍ ، حَدَّثَنَا مَالِكٌ ، عَنْ الزُّهْرِيِّ ، عَنْ عُبَيْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ عُتْبَةَ ، عَنِ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ ، قَالَ : قَالَ عُمَرُ :" إِنَّ اللَّهَ تَعَالَى، بَعَثَ مُحَمَّدًا صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ بِالْحَقِّ، وَأَنْزَلَ عَلَيْهِ الْكِتَابَ، وَكَانَ فِيمَا أَنْزَلَ آيَةُ الرَّجْمِ، فَقَرَأْنَاهَا وَوَعَيْنَاهَا وَعَقَلْنَاهَا، وَرَجَمَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ وَرَجَمْنَا بَعْدَهُ، فَأَخْشَى إِنْ طَالَ بِالنَّاسِ زَمَانٌ أَنْ يَقُولَ الْقَائِلُ : لَا نَجِدُ حَدَّ آيَةِ الرَّجْمِ فِي كِتَابِ اللَّهِ، وَالرَّجْمُ فِي كِتَابِ اللَّهِ حَقٌّ عَلَى مَنْ زَنَى مِنَ الرِّجَالِ وَالنِّسَاءِ إِذَا أُحْصِنَّ، إِذَا قَامَتْ عَلَيْهِ الْبَيِّنَةُ، أَوْ كَانَ الْحَبَلُ أَوِ الِاعْتِرَافُ "
Khaled bin Mukhlid told us, Malik told us, on the authority of Al-Zuhri, on the authority of Ubayd Allah bin Abdullah bin Utbah, on the authority of Ibn Abbas, he said: Omar said: “Indeed, God Almighty sent Muhammad, may God bless him and grant him peace, with the truth, and sent down to him the Book, and among what He sent down was a verse Stoning, so we read it, were aware of it, and understood it, and the Messenger of God, may God bless him and grant him peace, stoned us and we stoned after him, so I fear if the people will remain for a long time. For the one who says: We do not find the punishment for stoning in the Book of God, and stoning in the Book of God is a duty imposed on any man who commits adultery. And women, if they are married, if there is evidence, or there is pregnancy or confession.”
