أَخْبَرَنَا زَكَرِيَّا بْنُ عَدِيٍّ ، حَدَّثَنَا مُعْتَمِرٌ ، عَنْ الرُّكَيْنِ ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ ، عَنْ سَمُرَةَ : أَنّ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ " نَهَى أَنْنُسَمِّيَ أَرِقَّاءَنَا أَرْبَعَةَ أَسْمَاءٍ : أَفْلَحُ، وَنَافِعٌ، وَرَبَاحٌ، وَيَسَارٌ "
Zakaria bin Adiy told us, Mu`tamar told us, on the authority of Al-Rukain, on the authority of his father, on the authority of Samurah: That the Prophet, may God bless him and grant him peace, forbade We give our slaves four names: Aflah, Nafi’, Rabah, and Yasar.”
