أَخْبَرَنَا سَعِيدُ بْنُ عَامِرٍ ، أَنْبَأَنَا شُعْبَةُ ، عَنْ الْحَكَمِ ، عَنْ عِكْرِمَةَ ، قَالَ :" أَرْسَلَ ابْنُ عَبَّاسٍ إِلَى زَيْدِ بْنِ ثَابِتٍ : أَتَجِدُ فِي كِتَابِ اللَّهِ لِلْأُمِّ ثُلُثُ مَا بَقِي؟ فَقَالَ زَيْدٌ : إِنَّمَا أَنْتَ رَجُلٌ تَقُولُ بِرَأْيِكَ، وَأَنَا رَجُلٌ أَقُولُ بِرَأْيِي "
Sa`id bin Amir told us, Shu`bah told us, on the authority of Al-Hakam, on the authority of Ikrimah, he said: “Ibn Abbas sent to Zayd bin Thabit: Do you find in the Book of God for the mother a third of what was left? Zaid said: You are only a man who speaks with your opinion, and I am a man who speaks with my opinion.
