Sunan ad-Darimi — Hadith #55984

Al-Hakam bin Al-Mubarak told us, Muhammad bin Salamah told us, on the authority of Ibn Ishaq, on the authority of Al-Ala’ bin Abdul Rahman, on the authority of his father, he said: “ My mother was in charge of the Harqa, and my father Yaqoub was an official for Malik ibn Aws ibn al-Hadathan al-Nasri, and then my father was in charge of writing it. Then Al-Harqi came to Othman, asking Al-Haqq, meaning: Al-Ata, and with him was Malik bin Aws, and he said: That is my master, so they disputed with Othman. So he decided it for Al-Harqi.”
