Riyad as-Salihin # 5/844
وعن عبد الله بن عمرو بن العاص رضي الله عنهما أن رجلا سأل رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم: أي الإسلام خير؟ قال:
"تطعم الطعام، وتقرأ السلام على من عرفت ومن لم تعرف". ((متفق عليه)).
"تطعم الطعام، وتقرأ السلام على من عرفت ومن لم تعرف". ((متفق عليه)).
On the authority of Abdullah bin Amr bin Al-Aas, may God be pleased with them both, that a man asked the Messenger of God, may God bless him and grant him peace: Which Islam is best? He said:
“You give food, and you greet those you know and those you do not know.” (Agreed upon)

Riyad as-Salihin # 5/845
وعن أبي هريرة رضي الله عنه عن النبي صلى الله عليه وسلم قال: لما خلق الله تعالى آدم عليه السلام قال: اذهب فسلم على أولئك -نفر من الملائكة جلوس- فاستمع ما يحيونك، فإنه تحيتك وتحية ذريتك. فقال: السلام عليكم فقالوا: السلام عليك ورحمة الله، فزادوه: ورحمة الله" ((متفق عليه)).
On the authority of Abu Hurairah, may God be pleased with him, on the authority of the Prophet, may God’s prayers and peace be upon him, he said: When God Almighty created Adam, peace be upon him, he said: Go and greet those - a group of sitting angels - and listen to what they greet you, for it is your greeting and the greeting of your descendants. So he said: Peace be upon you. They said: Peace be upon you and God’s mercy, so they added it: And God’s mercy. (Agreed upon) On him)..

Riyad as-Salihin # 5/846
وعن أبي عمارة البراء بن عازب رضي الله عنهما قال: أمرنا رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم بسبع: بعيادة المريض، واتباع الجنائز، وتشميت العاطس، ونصر الضعيف، وعون المظلوم، وإفشاء السلام وإبرار المقسم. ((متفق عليه هذا لفظ إحدى روايات البخاري)).
On the authority of Abu Amara Al-Baraa bin Azib, may God be pleased with them both, he said: The Messenger of God, may God’s prayers and peace be upon him, commanded us to do seven things: to visit the sick, to follow funerals, to praise the sneezing person, to support the weak, to help the oppressed, to spread greetings, and to uphold the divisive. ((Agreed upon. This is the wording of one of Bukhari’s narrations)).

وعن أبي هريرة رضي الله عنه قال: قال رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم :
"لا تدخلوا الجنة حتى تؤمنوا ولا تؤمنوا حتى تحابوا أولا أدلكم على شيء إذا فعلتموه تحاببتم؟ أفشوا السلام بينكم" ((رواه مسلم )).
"لا تدخلوا الجنة حتى تؤمنوا ولا تؤمنوا حتى تحابوا أولا أدلكم على شيء إذا فعلتموه تحاببتم؟ أفشوا السلام بينكم" ((رواه مسلم )).
On the authority of Abu Hurairah, may God be pleased with him, he said: The Messenger of God, may God bless him and grant him peace, said:
“You will not enter Paradise until you believe, and you will not believe until you love one another. Shall I guide you to something that if you did, would you love one another? Spread peace between yourselves” ((Narrated by Muslim)).

Riyad as-Salihin # 5/848
وعن أبي يوسف عبد الله بن سلام رضي الله عنه قال: سمعت رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم يقول:
"يا أيها الناس أفشوا السلام، وأطعموا الطعام، وصلوا الأرحام وصلوا والناس نيام، تدخلوا الجنة بسلام" ((رواه الترمذي وقال حديث حسن صحيح)).
"يا أيها الناس أفشوا السلام، وأطعموا الطعام، وصلوا الأرحام وصلوا والناس نيام، تدخلوا الجنة بسلام" ((رواه الترمذي وقال حديث حسن صحيح)).
On the authority of Abu Yusuf Abdullah bin Salam, may God be pleased with him, he said: I heard the Messenger of God, may God bless him and grant him peace, saying:
“O people, spread peace, provide food, maintain ties with relatives, and pray while people are sleeping. You will enter Paradise in peace.” (Narrated by Al-Tirmidhi, who said it is a good and authentic hadith.)

وعن الطفيل بن أبي بن كعب أنه كان يأتي عبد الله بن عمر، فيغدو معه إلى السوق، قال: فإذا غدونا إلى السوق، لم يمر عبد الله على سقاط ولا صاحب بيعة، ولا مسكين، ولا أحد إلا سلم عليه، قال الطفيل، فجئت عبد الله بن عمر يومًا، فاستتبعني إلى السوق فقلت له: ما تصنع بالسوق، وأنت لا تقف على البيع ولا تسأل عن السلع، ولا تسوم بها، ولا تجلس في مجالس السوق؟ وأقول: اجلس بنا هاهنا نتحدث، فقال يا أبا بطن- وكان الطفيل ذا بطن- إنما نغدو من أجل السلام فنسلم على من لقيناه. ((رواه مالك في الموطأ بإسناد صحيح)).
On the authority of Al-Tufayl bin Abi bin Ka’b, he used to come to Abdullah bin Omar and join him in the morning to the market. He said: When we went to the market in the morning, Abdullah did not pass by a poor person, a seller, a poor person, or anyone without greeting him. Al-Tufayl said, I came to Abdullah bin Omar one day, and he followed me to the market. I said to him: What are you doing in the market, when you do not stand at the market, do not ask about the goods, do not bargain with them, and do not sit in the market places? And I say: Sit with us here and we will talk. Then he said, O Abu Batan - and Tufayl had a belly - we only go out in the morning for the sake of greeting, so we greet whomever we meet. ((Narrated by Malik in Al-Muwatta’ with an authentic chain of transmission)).

Riyad as-Salihin # 5/850
عن عمران بن الحصين رضي الله عنهما قال: جاء رجل إلى النبي صلى الله عليه وسلم فقال: السلام عليكم، فرد عليه ثم جلس، فقال النبي صلى الله عليه وسلم: “عشر” ثم جاء آخر، فقال: السلام عليكم ورحمة الله، فرد عليه فجلس، فقال:
"عشرون" ثم جاء آخر، فقال: السلام عليكم ورحمة الله وبركاته، فرد عليه فجلس، فقال: “ثلاثون” ((رواه أبو داود والترمذي وقال: حديث حسن)).
"عشرون" ثم جاء آخر، فقال: السلام عليكم ورحمة الله وبركاته، فرد عليه فجلس، فقال: “ثلاثون” ((رواه أبو داود والترمذي وقال: حديث حسن)).
On the authority of Imran bin Al-Husayn, may God be pleased with them both, he said: A man came to the Prophet, may God’s prayers and peace be upon him, and said: Peace be upon you. He replied to him and then sat down. The Prophet, may God’s prayers and peace be upon him, said: “Ten.” Then another came and said: May God’s peace and mercy be upon you. He replied to him and he sat down and said: “Twenty.” Then another came and said: May God’s peace, mercy, and blessings be upon you. He responded to him and he sat down, saying: “Thirty” (Narrated by Abu Dawud Al-Tirmidhi said: It is a good hadith

Riyad as-Salihin # 5/851
وعن عائشة رضي الله عنه قالت: قال لي رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم: “هذا جبريل يقرأ عليك السلام" قالت: قلت: "وعليه السلام ورحمة الله وبركاته" ((متفق عليه))
وهكذا وقع في بعض روايات الصحيحين: "وبركاته" وفي بعضها بحذفها وزيادة الثقة مقبولة

On the authority of Aisha, may God be pleased with her, she said: The Messenger of God, may God’s prayers and peace be upon him, said to me: “This is Gabriel reciting peace to you.” She said: I said: “And upon him be peace, God’s mercy, and His blessings” ((Agreed upon))
This is how it occurred in some of the narrations of the two Sahihs: “And His blessings,” and in some of them, by deleting it and adding trustworthiness, it is acceptable

Riyad as-Salihin # 5/852
وعن أنس رضي الله عنه أن النبي صلى الله عليه وسلم، كان إذا تكلم بكلمة أعادها ثلاثًا حتى تفهم عنه، وإذا أتى على قوم فسلم عليهم سلم عليهم ثلاثًا. ((رواه البخاري))
وهذا محمول على ما إذا كان الجمع كثيرًا.

On the authority of Anas, may God be pleased with him, that if the Prophet, may God’s prayers and peace be upon him, spoke a word, he would repeat it three times until it was understood from him, and if he came to a people and greeted them, he would greet them three times. ((Narrated by Al-Bukhari))
This depends on whether the combination is large

Riyad as-Salihin # 5/853
وعن المقداد رضي الله عنه في حديثه الطويل قال: كنا نرفع للنبي صلى الله عليه وسلم نصيبه من اللبن، فيجيء من الليل، فيسلم تسليمًا لا يوقظ نائمًا، ويسمع اليقظان، فجاء النبي صلى الله عليه وسلم فسلم كما كان يُسلم. ((رواه مسلم)).
On the authority of Al-Miqdad, may God be pleased with him, in his long hadith, he said: We used to give the Prophet, may God’s prayers and peace be upon him, his share of milk, and he would come in the night and give the salutation without waking the sleeping person, but listening to the awake person. Then the Prophet, may God’s prayers and peace be upon him, came and greeted him as he used to greet. ((Narrated by Muslim)).

Riyad as-Salihin # 5/854
وعن أسماء بنت يزيد رضي الله عنه عنها أن رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم، مر في المسجد يومًا، وعصبة من النساء قعود، فألوى بيده بالتسليم. ((رواه الترمذي وقال: حديث حسن))
On the authority of Asmaa bint Yazid, may God be pleased with her, that the Messenger of God, may God bless him and grant him peace, passed by the mosque one day, and a group of women were sitting, so he turned his hand in greeting. ((Narrated by Al-Tirmidhi and said: A good hadith))

وعن أبي أمامة رضي الله عنه قال: قال رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم:
"إن أولى الناس بالله من بدأهم بالسلام" ((رواه أبو داود بإسناد جيد، ورواه الترمذي بنحوه وقال: حديث حسن، وقد ذكر بعده)).

The Prophet (ﷺ) said: Those who are nearest to Allah are they who are first to give a salutation.
[Abu Dawud] And At- Tirmidhi narrated its meaning and classified it as Hasan.

وعن أبي جري الهجيمي رضي الله عنه قال: أتيت رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم فقلت: عليك السلام يا رسول الله قال:
"لا تقل عليك السلام؛ فإن عليك السلام تحية الموتى".
((رواه أبو داود، والترمذي وقال: حديث حسن صحيح. وقد سبق بطوله)).

On the authority of Abu Jari al-Hujaimi, may God be pleased with him, he said: I came to the Messenger of God, may God bless him and grant him peace, and said: Peace be upon you, O Messenger of God. He said:
“Do not say peace be upon you, for peace be upon you is the greeting of the dead.”
((Narrated by Abu Dawud and Al-Tirmidhi, who said: It is a good and authentic hadith. Its length has previously been mentioned.))

عن أبي هريرة رضي الله عنه أن رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم قال: "يسلم الراكب على الماشي، والماشي على القاعد، والقليل على الكثير” ((متفق عليه))
وفي رواية للبخاري: "والصغير على الكبير"

[Al-Bukhari and Muslim].
The narration in Al-Bukhari adds: The Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said, "The young should greet the elderly.''

وعن أبي أمامة صُدي بن عجلان الباهلي رضي الله عنه قال: قال رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم: “إن أولى الناس بالله من بدأهم بالسلام" ((رواه أبو داود بإسناد جيد)).
ورواه الترمذي عن أبي أمامة رضي الله عنه: قيل: يا رسول الله، الرجلان يلتقيان، أيهما يبدأ بالسلام؟ قال: "أولاهما بالله تعالى" قال الترمذي : حديث حسن.

The narration in At-Tirmidhi is: The Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) was asked: "O Messenger of Allah! When two persons meet, who should greet the other first?'' The Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said, "The person nearest to Allah (i.e., one who is more obedient and therefore closer to Allah will say: As-Salam first)."

وعنه عن رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم، قال:
"إذا لقي أحدكم أخاه، فليسلم عليه، فإن حالت بينهما شجرة، أو جدار، أو حجر، ثم لقيه، فليسلم عليه" ((رواه أبو داود)).
"إذا لقي أحدكم أخاه، فليسلم عليه، فإن حالت بينهما شجرة، أو جدار، أو حجر، ثم لقيه، فليسلم عليه" ((رواه أبو داود)).
On the authority of the Messenger of God, may God bless him and grant him peace, he said:
“If one of you meets his brother, let him greet him. If a tree, a wall, or a stone comes between them, and he meets him, let him greet him.” (Narrated by Abu Dawud)

وعن أنس رضي الله عنه قال: قال لي رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم :
"يا بُني، إذا دخلت على أهلك، فسلم، يكن بركة عليك، وعلى أهل بيتك" ((رواه الترمذي وقال: حديث حسن صحيح)).
"يا بُني، إذا دخلت على أهلك، فسلم، يكن بركة عليك، وعلى أهل بيتك" ((رواه الترمذي وقال: حديث حسن صحيح)).
On the authority of Anas, may God be pleased with him, he said: The Messenger of God, may God bless him and grant him peace, said to me:
“O my son, if you enter upon your family and greet them, it will be a blessing for you and for your household.” ((Narrated by Al-Tirmidhi and said: A good and authentic hadith)).

وعن أسماء بنت يزيد رضي الله عنه قالت: مر علينا النبي صلى الله عليه وسلم في نسوة فسلم علينا.
((رواه أبو داود، والترمذي وقال: حديث حسن، وهذا لفظ أبي داود))
ولفظ الترمذي: أن رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم مر في المسجد يومًا، وعصبة من النساء قعود، فألوى بيده بالتسليم.

In At-Tirmidhi: that the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) passed through the Masjid one day, and a group of women were sitting, so he motioned his hand with the salam.

وعن أنس رضي الله عنه قال: قال رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم: "إذا سلم عليكم أهل الكتاب فقولوا: وعليكم” ((متفق عليه))
On the authority of Anas, may God be pleased with him, he said: The Messenger of God, may God’s prayers and peace be upon him, said: “When the People of the Book greet you, say: And upon you” ((Agreed upon))

Riyad as-Salihin # 5/868
وعن أسامة رضي الله عنه أن النبي صلى الله عليه وسلم مر على مجلس فيه أخلاط من المسلمين والمشركين -عبدة الأوثان واليهود- فسلم عليهم النبي صلى الله عليه وسلم" ((متفق عليه)).
On the authority of Osama, may God be pleased with him, that the Prophet, may God’s prayers and peace be upon him, passed by a gathering in which there was a mixture of Muslims and polytheists - idol worshipers and Jews - so the Prophet, may God’s prayers and peace be upon him, greeted them” ((Agreed upon)).

وعن أبي موسي الأشعري رضي الله عنه قال: قال رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم : “ الاستئذان ثلاث، فإن أذن لك وإلا فارجع" ((متفق عليه))
On the authority of Abu Musa Al-Ash’ari, may God be pleased with him, he said: The Messenger of God, may God’s prayers and peace be upon him, said: “Seeking permission is three things: if he gives you permission, otherwise return” ((Agreed upon))

وعن سهل بن سعد قال: قال رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم :
"إنما جعل الاستئذان من أجل البصر" ((متفق عليه)).

On the authority of Sahl bin Saad, he said: The Messenger of God, may God bless him and grant him peace, said:
“The request for permission was only made for the sake of sight” (Agreed upon).

وعن ربعي بن حراش قال: حدثنا رجل من بني عامر استأذن علي النبي صلى الله عليه وسلم وهو في بيت، فقال: أألج؟ فقال رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم لخادمه: "أخرج إلي هذا وعلمه الاستئذان، فقل له: قل: السلام عليكم، أأدخل؟” فسمعه الرجل فقال: السلام عليكم، أأدخل؟ فأذن له النبي صلى الله عليه وسلم ، فدخل. ((رواه أبو داود بإسناد صحيح)).
On the authority of Rab’i bin Harash, he said: A man from Banu Amir told us that he asked permission from the Prophet, may God’s prayers and peace be upon him, while he was in a house, and he said: Should I enter? Then the Messenger of God, may God’s prayers and peace be upon him, said to his servant: “Go out to this man and teach him permission, so say to him: Say: Peace be upon you. Shall I enter?” The man heard him and said: Peace be upon you, may I enter? So the Prophet, may God’s prayers and peace be upon him, gave him permission. Peace be upon him, so he entered. ((Narrated by Abu Dawud with a chain of transmission True)..

Riyad as-Salihin # 5/873
عن كلدة بن الحنبل رضي الله عنه قال: أتيت النبي صلى الله عليه وسلم ، فدخلت عليه ولم أسلم، فقال النبي صلى الله عليه وسلم :
"ارجع فقل السلام عليكم أأدخل؟"
((رواه أبو داود، والترمذي وقال: حديث حسن)).
"ارجع فقل السلام عليكم أأدخل؟"
((رواه أبو داود، والترمذي وقال: حديث حسن)).
On the authority of Kalada ibn al-Hanbal, may God be pleased with him, he said: I came to the Prophet, may God’s prayers and peace be upon him, and I entered upon him but did not greet him. Then the Prophet, may God’s prayers and peace be upon him, said:
“Come back and say peace be upon you. May I come in?”
((Narrated by Abu Dawud and Al-Tirmidhi and said: It is a good hadith.))

Riyad as-Salihin # 5/875
وعن أبي ذر رضي الله عنه قال: خرجت ليلة من الليالي، فإذا رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم يمشي وحده، فجعلت أمشي في ظل القمر، فالتفت فرآني فقال:
"من هذا؟" فقلت: أبو ذر، ((متفق عليه)).
"من هذا؟" فقلت: أبو ذر، ((متفق عليه)).
On the authority of Abu Dharr, may God be pleased with him, he said: I went out one night and saw the Messenger of God, may God bless him and grant him peace, walking alone. So I started walking in the shadow of the moon, and he turned and saw me and said:
“Who is this?” I said: Abu Dharr (Agreed upon).

Riyad as-Salihin # 5/876
وعن أم هانيء رضي الله عنها قالت: أتيت النبي صلى الله عليه وسلم وهو يغتسل وفاطمة تستره فقال
" من هذه؟" فقلت: أنا أم هانيء. ((متفق عليه)).
" من هذه؟" فقلت: أنا أم هانيء. ((متفق عليه)).
On the authority of Umm Hani’, may God be pleased with her, she said: I came to the Prophet, may God’s prayers and peace be upon him, while he was bathing and Fatima was covering him. He said:
“Who is this?” I said: “I am Umm Hani’.” (Agreed upon)

Riyad as-Salihin # 5/877
وعن جابر رضي الله عنه قال: أتيت النبي صلى الله عليه وسلم فدققت الباب، فقال "من ذا؟" فقلت: أنا، فقال: "أنا أنا؟!" كـأنه كرهها ((متفق عليه)).
On the authority of Jabir, may God be pleased with him, he said: I came to the Prophet, may God’s prayers and peace be upon him, and I knocked on the door. He said, “Who is it?” I said: “Me,” and he said: “It is me?!” As if he hated her ((Agreed upon)).

Riyad as-Salihin # 5/879
وعنه عن النبي صلى الله عليه وسلم الله قال:
"إذا عطس أحدكم فليقل: الحمد لله؛ وليقل له أخوه أو أصحابه: يرحمك الله، فإذا قال له: يرحمك الله، فليقل: يهديكم الله ويصلح بالكم" ((رواه البخاري)).
"إذا عطس أحدكم فليقل: الحمد لله؛ وليقل له أخوه أو أصحابه: يرحمك الله، فإذا قال له: يرحمك الله، فليقل: يهديكم الله ويصلح بالكم" ((رواه البخاري)).
On the authority of him, on the authority of the Prophet, may God bless him and grant him peace, he said:
“If one of you sneezes, let him say: Praise be to God, and let his brother or companions say to him: May God have mercy on you. And if he says to him: May God have mercy on you, let him say: May God guide you and make your mind right.” ((Narrated by Al-Bukhari)).

Riyad as-Salihin # 5/880
وعن أبي موسي رضي الله عنه قال: سمعت رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم يقول:
"إذا عطس أحدكم فحمد الله فشمتوه، فإن لم يحمد الله فلا تشمتوه" ((رواه مسلم)).
"إذا عطس أحدكم فحمد الله فشمتوه، فإن لم يحمد الله فلا تشمتوه" ((رواه مسلم)).
On the authority of Abu Musa, may God be pleased with him, he said: I heard the Messenger of God, may God bless him and grant him peace, say:
“If one of you sneezes and praises God, then smell him, but if he does not praise God, do not smell him.” ((Narrated by Muslim)).

Riyad as-Salihin # 5/881
وعن أنس رضي الله عنه قال: عطس رجلان عند النبي صلى الله عليه وسلم ، فشمت أحدهما ولم يشمت الآخر، فقال الذي لم يشمته: عطس فلان فشمته، وعطست فلم تشمتني؟ فقال:
"هذا حمد الله، وإنك لم تحمد الله" ((متفق عليه))
"هذا حمد الله، وإنك لم تحمد الله" ((متفق عليه))
On the authority of Anas, may God be pleased with him, he said: Two men sneezed in the presence of the Prophet, may God bless him and grant him peace, and one of them smelled it and the other did not smell it. The one who did not smell it said: So-and-so sneezed and I smelled him, and I sneezed and you did not smell me? So he said:
“This is the praise of God, but you did not thank God.” (Agreed upon)

Riyad as-Salihin # 5/882
وعن أبي هريرة رضي الله عنه قال: كان رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم إذا عطس وضع يده أو ثوبه علي فيه، وخفض -أو غض- بها صوته. شك الراوي. ((رواه أبو داود، والترمذي وقال: حديث حسن صحيح)).
On the authority of Abu Hurairah, may God be pleased with him, he said: Whenever the Messenger of God, may God’s prayers and peace be upon him, sneezed, he would put his hand or his garment on it, and lower - or lower - his voice with it. The narrator doubted. ((Narrated by Abu Dawud and Al-Tirmidhi and said: A good and authentic hadith)).

وعن أبي موسي رضي الله عنه قال: كان اليهود يتعاطسون عند رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم يرجون أن يقول لهم: يرحمكم الله، فيقول: ""يهديكم الله ويصلح بالكم" ((رواه أبو داود، والترمذي وقال: حديث حسن صحيح)).
On the authority of Abu Musa, may God be pleased with him, he said: The Jews were whispering to the Messenger of God, may God bless him and grant him peace, hoping that he would say to them: May God have mercy on you, and he would say: “May God guide you and set your mind at ease” ((Narrated by Abu Dawud and Al-Tirmidhi, who said: A good and authentic hadith)).

وعن أبي سعيد الخدري رضي الله عنه قال: قال رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم :
"إذا تثاءب أحدكم فليمسك بيده علي فيه، فإن الشيطان يدخل" ((رواه مسلم)).
"إذا تثاءب أحدكم فليمسك بيده علي فيه، فإن الشيطان يدخل" ((رواه مسلم)).
On the authority of Abu Saeed Al-Khudri, may God be pleased with him, he said: The Messenger of God, may God bless him and grant him peace, said:
“If one of you yawns, let him hold his hand over his mouth, for Satan will enter.” (Narrated by Muslim)

وعن أنس رضي الله عنه قال: لما جاء أهل اليمن قال رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم : “قد جاءكم أهل اليمن، وهم أول من جاء بالمصافحة" ((رواه أبو داود بإسناد صحيح)).
On the authority of Anas, may God be pleased with him, he said: When the people of Yemen came, the Messenger of God, may God bless him and grant him peace, said: “The people of Yemen have come to you, and they are the first to come with a handshake” ((Narrated by Abu Dawud with an authentic chain of transmission)).

وعن البراء رضي الله عنه قال: قال رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم :
"ما من مسلمين يلتقيان فيتصافحان إلا غفر لهما قبل أن يفترقا" ((رواه أبو داود)).
"ما من مسلمين يلتقيان فيتصافحان إلا غفر لهما قبل أن يفترقا" ((رواه أبو داود)).
On the authority of Al-Baraa, may God be pleased with him, he said: The Messenger of God, may God bless him and grant him peace, said:
“There is no two Muslims who meet and shake hands except that they are forgiven before they part” ((Narrated by Abu Dawud)).

وعن أنس رضي الله عنه قال: قال رجل: يا رسول الله، الرجل منا يلقي أخاه أو صديقه، أينحني له قال: "لا" قال: أفيلتزمه ويقبله؟فال: "لا" قال: فيأخذ بيده ويصافحه؟ قال:"نعم" ((رواه الترمذي وقال: حديث حسن)).
On the authority of Anas, may God be pleased with him, he said: A man said: O Messenger of God, a man among us meets his brother or friend. Should he bow to him? He said: “No.” He said: Should he stick to him and kiss him? He said: “No.” He said: So he should take his hand and shake it? He said: “Yes” ((Narrated by Al-Tirmidhi and said: Hadith Hassan).

Riyad as-Salihin # 5/889
وعن صفوان بن عسال رضي الله عنه قال: قال يهودي لصاحبه: اذهب بنا إلي هذا النبي صلى الله عليه وسلم فأتيا رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم ، فسألاه عن تسع آيات بينات؛ فذكر الحديث إلي قوله: فقبلا يده ورجله، وقالا: نشهد أنك نبي. ((رواه الترمذي وغيره بأسانيد صحيحة)).
On the authority of Safwan bin Assal, may God be pleased with him, he said: A Jew said to his friend: Take us to this Prophet, may God’s prayers and peace be upon him. They came to the Messenger of God, may God’s prayers and peace be upon him, and asked him about nine clear signs. So he mentioned the hadith to his saying: So they kissed his hand and foot, and said: We bear witness that you are a prophet. ((Narrated by Al-Tirmidhi and others with authentic chains of transmission)).

وعن ابن عمر، رضي الله عنهما، قصة قال فيها: فدنونا من النبي صلى الله عليه وسلم فقبلنا يده" ((رواه أبو داود)).
On the authority of Ibn Omar, may God be pleased with them both, a story in which he said: “So we approached the Prophet, may God bless him and grant him peace, and we kissed his hand” ((Narrated by Abu Dawud)).

Riyad as-Salihin # 5/891
وعن عائشة رضي الله عنها قالت: قدم زيد بن حارثة المدينة ورسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم في بيتي، فأتاه فقرع الباب، فقام إليه النبي صلى الله عليه وسلم يجر ثوبه، فاعتنقه وقبله" ((رواه الترمذي وقال: حديث حسن)).
On the authority of Aisha, may God be pleased with her, she said: Zaid bin Haritha came to Medina and the Messenger of God, may God bless him and grant him peace, came to my house. He came to him and knocked on the door, and the Prophet, may God bless him and grant him peace, stood up to him, pulling his garment, so he embraced him and kissed him. ((Narrated by Al-Tirmidhi and said: A good hadith)).

Riyad as-Salihin # 5/892
وعن أبي ذر، رضي الله عنه، قال: قال لي رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم :
"لا تحقرن من المعروف شيئاً، ولو أن تلقي أخاك بوجه طلق" ((رواه مسلم)).
"لا تحقرن من المعروف شيئاً، ولو أن تلقي أخاك بوجه طلق" ((رواه مسلم)).
On the authority of Abu Dharr, may God be pleased with him, he said: The Messenger of God, may God bless him and grant him peace, said to me:
“Do not despise any good deed, even if it is meeting your brother with a cheerful face.” (Narrated by Muslim)

Riyad as-Salihin # 5/893
وعن أبي هريرة رضي الله عنه قال: قبل النبي،صلى الله عليه وسلم الحسن بن على، رضي الله عنهما، فقال الأقرع بن حابس: إن لي عشرة من الولد ما قبلت منهم أحداً. فقال رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم :
"من لا يرحم لا يرحم!" ((متفق عليه))
"من لا يرحم لا يرحم!" ((متفق عليه))
On the authority of Abu Hurairah, may God be pleased with him, he said: The Prophet, may God’s prayers and peace be upon him, kissed Al-Hasan bin Ali, may God be pleased with them both. Al-Aqra’ bin Habis said: I have ten children, and I have not kissed any of them. Then the Messenger of God, may God’s prayers and peace be upon him, said:
“He who does not have mercy will not have mercy!” (Agreed upon)

عن أبي هريرة رضي الله عنه في حديث المسيء صلاته أنه جاء فصلى، ثم جاء النبي صلى الله عليه وسلم، فسلم عليه، فرد عليه السلام، فقال:
"ارجع فصلِ، فإنك لم تصلِ" فرجع فصلى، ثم جاء فسلم على النبي صلى الله عليه وسلم، حتى فعل ذلك ثلاث مرات” ((متفق عليه))

Abu Hurayrah (may Allah be pleased with him) reported that he had come to pray, then the Prophet (may Allah's peace and blessings be upon him) came and said:
“Return a chapter, for you have not prayed.” He came back and prayed, then he came and greeted the Prophet (peace be upon him) until he did it three times.

عن أنس رضي الله عنه أنه مر على صبيان، فسلم عليهم، وقال: كان رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم يفعله” ((متفق عليه))
Anas (may Allah be pleased with him) reported that he passed by two children, and he said: The Messenger of Allah (may Allah's peace and blessings be upon him) used to do it.

Riyad as-Salihin # 5/863
عن سهل بن سعد رضي الله عنه قال: كانت فينا امرأة -وفي رواية: كانت لنا عجوز- تأخذ من أصول السلق فتطرحه في القدر، وتكركر حبات من شعير، فإذا صلينا الجمعة، وانصرفنا، نُسلم عليها، فتقدمه إلينا" ((رواه البخاري)).
Sahl ibn Sa'd (may Allah be pleased with him) said: There was a woman among us, and in a novel: We had an old woman, who took from the origins of the boil, so she put it in the pot, and repeated the beads of barley, and when we prayed Friday, and we left, we would greet her, and she would present it to us.

وعن أم هانئ فاختة بنت أبي طالب رضي الله عنه قالت: أتيت النبي صلى الله عليه وسلم يوم الفتح وهو يغتسل، وفاطمة تستره بثوب، فسلمت، وذكرت الحديث” ((رواه مسلم)).
Abu Talib’s daughter, Fatima’s mother, said: ‘I came to the Prophet (may Allah's peace and blessings be upon him) on the day of the conquest while he wasted, and Fatima covered him with a garment, so she greeted, and she mentioned the hadith.

عن أبي هريرة رضي الله عنه أن رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم قال:
" لا تبدءوا اليهود ولا النصارى بالسلام، فإذا لقيتم أحدهم في طريق فاضطروه إلى أضيقه" ((رواه مسلم)).
" لا تبدءوا اليهود ولا النصارى بالسلام، فإذا لقيتم أحدهم في طريق فاضطروه إلى أضيقه" ((رواه مسلم)).
Abu Hurayrah (may Allah be pleased with him) reported that the Messenger of Allah (may Allah's peace and blessings be upon him) said:
“Do not start the Jews or the Christians with peace, and when you meet one of them in a path, then force him to the narrowest one.”

وعن أبي هريرة رضي الله عنه قال: قال رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم: "إذا انتهى أحدكم إلى المجلس فليسلم، فإذا أراد أن يقوم فليسلم، فليست الأولى بأحق من الآخرة" ((رواه أبو داود، والترمذي وقال: حديث حسن")).
Abu Hurayrah (may Allah be pleased with him) reported: The Messenger of Allah (may Allah's peace and blessings be upon him) said: "When one of you ends with the council, let him not come, and if he wants to stand up, he will not give up, the first is not more right than the Hereafter."

عن أنس رضي الله عنه في حديثه المشهور في الإسراء قال: قال رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم :
"ثم صعد بي جبريل إلي السماء الدنيا فاستفتح، فقيل: من هذا؟ قال: جبريل، قيل:ومن معك؟ قال: محمد. ثم صعد إلي السماء الثانية والثالثة والرابعة وسائرهن، ويقال في باب كل سماء: من هذا؟ فيقول: جبريل" ((متفق عليه)).
"ثم صعد بي جبريل إلي السماء الدنيا فاستفتح، فقيل: من هذا؟ قال: جبريل، قيل:ومن معك؟ قال: محمد. ثم صعد إلي السماء الثانية والثالثة والرابعة وسائرهن، ويقال في باب كل سماء: من هذا؟ فيقول: جبريل" ((متفق عليه)).
Anas (may Allah be pleased with him) reported that the Messenger of Allah (may Allah's peace and blessings be upon him) said:
Then Gabriel brought me up to the lower heaven, and he opened it, and it was said, “Who is this?” He said, ‘Jibril,’ and it was said, ‘Who is it with you?’ He said, "Mohammed. Then he went up to the second, third, fourth and all the other heavens, and it is said in the door of every heaven: Who is this? He says, ‘Jibril’ (agreed).

عن أبي هريرة رضي الله عنه أن النبي صلى الله عليه وسلم قال:
"إن الله يحب العطاس، ويكره التثاؤب، فإذا عطس أحدكم وحمد الله تعالي كان حقاً علي كل مسلم سمعه أن يقول له:يرحمك الله، وأما التثاؤب فإنما هو من الشيطان، فإذا تثاءب أحدكم فليرده ما استطاع، فإن أحدكم إذا تثاءب ضحك منه الشيطان" ((رواه البخاري)).
"إن الله يحب العطاس، ويكره التثاؤب، فإذا عطس أحدكم وحمد الله تعالي كان حقاً علي كل مسلم سمعه أن يقول له:يرحمك الله، وأما التثاؤب فإنما هو من الشيطان، فإذا تثاءب أحدكم فليرده ما استطاع، فإن أحدكم إذا تثاءب ضحك منه الشيطان" ((رواه البخاري)).
Abu Hurayrah (may Allah be pleased with him) reported that the Prophet (may Allah's peace and blessings be upon him) said:
“God loves sneezing, and hates yawning, and when one of you sneezes, and praise be to Allah, the Almighty, it is a right for every Muslim who hears him to say to him: ‘May Allah have mercy on you,’ but the yawn is from Satan, and when one of you yawns, let him return what he can, then one of you will be rewarded by Satan’s laughter.”

عن أبي الخطاب قتادة قال: قلت لأنس: أكانت المصافحة في أصحاب رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم ؟ قال: نعم" ((رواه البخاري)).
Abu al-Khattab said: I said to Anas: Was the handshake in the companions of the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him)? He said, ‘Yes.’
