Jami' at-Tirmidhi — Hadith #26497

Qutaibah bin Saeed narrated to us, Al-Layth narrated to us, on the authority of Hisham bin Urwa, on the authority of his father, on the authority of Omar bin Abi Salamah, that he saw the Messenger of God, may God bless him and grant him peace. Abu Issa said: The hadith of Omar bin Abi Salamah is a hasan and authentic hadith. This should be acted upon when Most of the people of knowledge among the Companions of the Prophet, may God bless him and grant him peace, and those who came after them among the Successors and others, said that there is no harm in praying in one garment. Some people of knowledge have said that a man prays in two garments.
