Hadith #26827
Ahmad bin Mani’ told us, Ruh bin Ubadah told us, Zakaria bin Ishaq told us, Amr bin Dinar told me, on the authority of Ikrimah, on the authority of Ibn Abbas, that a man said, O Messenger of God, my mother has died. Will it benefit her if I give alms on her behalf? He said, “Yes.” He said, “It is for me.” I bear witness to you that I have believed it on her behalf. Abu Issa said: This is a good hadith. And the people of knowledge say about it. They say: Nothing reaches the dead except charity and supplication. Some of them narrated this hadith on the authority of Amr ibn Dinar, on the authority of Ikrimah, on the authority of the Prophet, may God bless him and grant him peace. May God bless him and grant him peace. He said, and the meaning of his saying is, “I have a garden.” It means a garden.
