Hadith #27007
Qutaibah narrated to us, Al-Layth narrated to us, on the authority of Ibn Shihab, on the authority of Ubayd Allah bin Abdullah, that Ibn Abbas told him that Al-Saab bin Jathama told him that the Messenger of God, may God bless him and grant him peace, passed by him in Al-Abwa or Budan, so he presented him a wild donkey, which he returned to him. When he saw The Messenger of God, may God bless him and grant him peace, with a look of hatred on his face, said, “We have no response to you, but we are inviolable.” Abu Issa said this hadith. Hasan Sahih. A group of scholars among the Companions of the Prophet, may God bless him and grant him peace, and others, adhered to this hadith and disliked eating it. Hunting is for a person in ihram. Al-Shafi’i said that the meaning of this hadith according to us is that he returned it to him when he thought that he had hunted for his sake and abandoned it. On the authority of Al-Zuhri. Some of Al-Zuhri’s companions narrated this hadith on the authority of Al-Zuhri, and he said, “He gave him the meat of a zebra as a gift.” This is not true. Preserved. He said, on the authority of Ali and Zayd bin Arqam.
