Hadith #27008
Abu Kurayb told us, Waki` told us, on the authority of Hammad bin Salamah, on the authority of Abu al-Muhazam, on the authority of Abu Hurairah, he said: We went out with the Messenger of God, may God bless him and grant him peace, in Hajj or Umrah, then a man of locusts met us and we began to strike him with our whips and our sticks. Then the Prophet, may God bless him and grant him peace, said, “Eat it, for it is from sea game.” Abu Issa said: This is a strange hadith. We do not know it except from the hadith of Abu Al-Muhazim on the authority of Abu Hurairah. Abu al-Muhazim’s name is Yazid ibn Sufyan, and Shu’bah spoke about him. Some of the people of knowledge permitted the ihram to He hunts Locusts and eat them, and some of them considered it a charity when they caught them and ate them.
