Jami' at-Tirmidhi — Hadith #27427

Hanad told us, Abu Muawiyah told us, on the authority of Al-Amash, on the authority of Shaqiq ibn Salamah, on the authority of Abdullah ibn Masoud, he said, the Messenger of God, may God bless him and grant him peace, said “Whoever swears an oath while in it he is an immoral person in order to take with it the wealth of a Muslim man, he will meet God while He is angry with him.” He said. There was land between me and a Jewish man, and he denied me, so I presented it to the Prophet, may God bless him and grant him peace, and he said to me The Messenger of God, may God bless him and grant him peace, “Do you have any proof?” I said, “No.” Then he said to the Jew, “Swear.” I said, “O Messenger of God.” Then he swears and takes my money. Then God Almighty revealed: (Indeed, those who buy the covenant of God and their oaths for a small price). The last verse. Abu Issa said: On the authority of Wa’il ibn Hajar, Abu Musa, Abu Umamah ibn Tha’labah al-Ansari, and Imran ibn Husayn The hadith of Ibn Masoud is a good and authentic hadith.
