Jami' at-Tirmidhi — Hadith #29379

Abdul bin Humaid told us, Ruh bin Ubadah told us, on the authority of Awf, on the authority of Al-Hasan, Muhammad, and Khalas, on the authority of Abu Hurairah, on the authority of the Prophet, may God bless him and grant him peace. “Moses, peace be upon him, was a living, concealed man, not a trace of his skin could be seen out of shyness, so whoever among his children harmed him harmed him.” Israel, so they said: This veil does not cover anything except a blemish on its skin, either leprosy, or a boil, or a blemish, and indeed God Almighty and Majestic wanted to He absolves him of what they said, and that Moses, peace be upon him, was alone one day, so he laid his clothes on a stone, then he washed himself, and when he finished, he came To his clothes to take them, and the stone was replaced by his garment, so Moses took his staff and asked for the stone and said, “My garment is a stone, my garment is a stone.” He went to a group of the Children of Israel and they saw him naked. He treated the people with the best behavior and cleared him of what they were saying. He said, and the stone stood up and took it. And he struck the stone with his stick, and by God, the stone has scars from the effects of his three, four, or five disobediences, so that is God Almighty says: (O you who have believed, do not be like those who annoyed Moses. Then God cleared him of what they said, and he was of honor in the sight of God.) Abu Issa said: This is a hasan and authentic hadith. It was narrated through more than one authority, on the authority of Abu Hurairah, on the authority of the Prophet, may God bless him and grant him peace, and in it on the authority of Anas, on the authority of the Prophet, may God bless him and grant him peace. And peace be upon him.
