Abu Issa said: This is a hasan and authentic hadith. We do not know it except from the hadith of Abdullah bin A dinar, on the authority of Ibn Umar, on the authority of the Prophet, may God’s prayers and peace be upon him, that he forbade selling loyalty and giving it away. It was narrated by Shu’bah, Sufyan al-Thawri and Malik Ibn Anas on the authority of Abdullah Ibn Dinar. It is narrated on the authority of Shu’bah that he said, “I wish that Abdullah Ibn Dinar had narrated this hadith.” He gave me permission so that I could go up to him and kiss his head. Yahya bin Sulaym narrated this hadith on the authority of Ubayd Allah bin Umar, on the authority of Nafi’, on the authority of Ibn Umar, on the authority of the Prophet, may God bless him and grant him peace, and it is an illusion, and they are in it, Yahya bin Sulaym, and the authentic one is on the authority of Ubayd Allah bin Umar, on the authority of Abdullah bin A dinar on the authority of Ibn Umar, on the authority of the Prophet, may God bless him and grant him peace.
