Qutaibah narrated to us, Ibn Lahi’ah narrated to us, on the authority of Ubayd Allah ibn Abi Ja’far, on the authority of Abu Abd al-Rahman al-Hubali, on the authority of Abu Dharr, he said, The Messenger of God, may God’s prayers and peace be upon him, “Whoever uncovers a veil and looks into the house before it is called and sees the nakedness of its family has committed an unjust punishment.” It is permissible for him to come to it, if when he entered his sight a man met him and gouged out his eyes, I would not change his condition, and if a man passed by a door without covering It is not closed, so he looked and there is no sin on him, but the sin is on the household.” And on the authority of Abu Hurairah and Abu Umamah Abu Issa said: This is a strange hadith. We do not know anything like this except from the hadith of Ibn Lahi’ah and Abu Abd al-Rahman al-Hubli, whose name is Abd. Allah bin Yazid.
