Hadith #29023
Qutaibah narrated to us, he said, Abu Awanah narrated to us, on the authority of Qatada, on the authority of Anas, on the authority of Abu Musa Al-Ash’ari, he said, “The Messenger of God, may God bless him and grant him peace, said.” The example of a believer who reads the Qur’an is like the citrus, its fragrance is pleasant and its taste is pleasant. The example of a believer who does not read the Qur’an Like a date, it has no scent, but its taste is sweet. Like a hypocrite who reads the Qur’an, like a basil, its smell is pleasant, but its taste is bitter. The hypocrite who does not recite the Qur’an is like cocoa, whose smell is bitter and whose taste is bitter.” Abu Issa said: This is a good and authentic hadith. It was also narrated by Shu’bah on the authority of Qatada.
