Jami' at-Tirmidhi — Hadith #29021

Muhammad bin Ismail narrated to us, he said, Musa bin Ismail narrated to us, he said, Aban bin Yazid narrated to us, he said, Yahya bin Abi narrated to us. Many, on the authority of Zayd bin Salam, that Abu Salam told him that Al-Harith Al-Ash’ari told him that the Prophet, may God bless him and grant him peace, said, “Indeed, God He commanded Yahya bin Zakariya with five words to act upon them, and commanded the Children of Israel to act upon them, and he almost delayed them, so he said Jesus, God has commanded you with five words to act upon, and command the Children of Israel to act upon them. Either you command them, or I I command them. Yahya said, “I fear that if you overtake me with it, I will be defeated or punished.” So he gathered the people in the Holy House, and the mosque was filled, and they sat on the floor. Honor, and he said, “God commanded me with five words to act upon them, and I command you to act upon them. The first of them is to worship God.” And do not associate anything with Him. Indeed, the example of one who associates anything with God is like that of a man who bought a slave from his pure wealth for gold or paper and said, “This is my home.” This is my work, so work and lead to Me. He used to work and lead to someone other than his master. So which of you would be satisfied with his servant being like that? Indeed, God He commanded you to pray, so when you pray, do not turn around, for God places His face with the face of His servant in his prayer as long as he does not turn around, and I commanded you. With fasting, the likeness of that is like that of a man in a belt who has a sachet in which is musk. All of them admire or like its smell, and the smell of the fasting person is Sweeter to God than the scent of musk, and I command you to give charity, for the likeness of that is like a man captured by the enemy, so they tie his hand to his neck. They brought him forward to behead him, and he said, “I will ransom him from you with a little or a lot.” So he ransomed himself from them, and I command you to remember God. The example of that is like that of a man whom the enemy quickly pursues, until when he comes to a strong fortress he protects himself from them. Likewise, the servant does not He protects himself from Satan except by the remembrance of God.” The Prophet, may God bless him and grant him peace, said, “And I command you to do five things that God has commanded me to do.” Hearing, obedience, jihad, migration, and community, for whoever separates from the group by even an inch has taken off the tie of Islam from his neck, except And whoever claims the claim of pre-Islamic times, then he is from the pit of Hell.” Then a man said, “O Messenger of God, and if he prays and fasts, he will say.” And if he prays and fasts, then invoke the supplication of God, who has named you Muslims and believers, servants of God.” This is a good, authentic, and strange hadith. He said. Muhammad bin Ismail Al-Harith Al-Ash’ari has a companion, and he has other than this hadith.
