Jami' at-Tirmidhi — Hadith #29497

Abd bin Humayd told us, Ruh bin Ubadah, and Ubayd Allah bin Musa told us, on the authority of Musa bin Ubaidah, on the authority of Ayyub bin Khalid, on the authority of Abd Allah bin Rafi’, on the authority of Abu Hurairah, said: The Messenger of God, may God bless him and grant him peace, said, “The promised day is the Day of Resurrection and the witnessed day.” The day of Arafat, and the witness is Friday, and the sun has neither risen nor set on a day better than it, in which there is an hour that no believing servant will agree with, calling “God is good unless God responds to him, and he does not seek refuge from evil but God protects him from it.” Abu Issa said this is a good hadith. It is strange and we do not know it except from the hadith of Musa bin Ubaidah. And Musa bin Ubaidah weakens the hadith in a hadith that was weakened by Yahya bin Saeed and others before. He memorized it. Ali bin Hajar narrated to us, Qur’an bin Tammam Al-Asadi narrated to us, on the authority of Musa bin Ubaidah, with this chain of transmission and similar to it. Musa bin Ubaidah Al-Rabdi was nicknamed Abu Abdul Aziz, and Yahya and others spoke about him before he memorized him. Shu’bah narrated Al-Thawri and more than one of the imams on his authority.
