Jami' at-Tirmidhi — Hadith #29684

Al-Hasan bin Arafa told us, Ismail bin Ayyash told us, on the authority of Abdullah bin Abdul Rahman bin Abi Hussein, on the authority of Shahr bin Hawshab, on the authority of Abu Umamah Al-Bahili, said: I heard the Messenger of God, may God’s prayers and peace be upon him, saying: “Whoever goes to his bed in a pure state, remembers God until He reaches him.” Sleepiness does not occur for an hour of the night, asking God for anything of the good of this world or the hereafter, but God gives it to him. He said: This is a good hadith. Strange. This was also narrated on the authority of Shahr ibn Hawshab, on the authority of Abu Dhabiya, on the authority of Amr ibn Absa, on the authority of the Prophet, may God bless him and grant him peace.
