وفي عام الوداع جاءني رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم وأنا مريضة. في ذلك الوقت كان جسدي يعاني من ألم شديد. فقلت: يا رسول الله! لقد وصل تهيجي (الجسدي) إلى مرحلة حادة - والتي تراها بأم عينيك. وأنا رجل غني. لكن وريثي هي ابنتي الوحيدة. فهل أتنازل عن ثلثي ثروتي؟ قال: لا. قلت: فالنصف يا رسول الله. قال: لا. قلت: فالثلث؟ قال: «الثلث والثلث كثير، فإنك إن تترك ورثتك أغنياء خير من أن تتركهم فقراء وهم قوم». سوف نتواصل. (وتذكر) ما أنفقت من شيء تبتغي به وجه الله فلك فيه عوض. حتى الطعام الذي تجعله في فم امرأتك لك فيه عوض» (البخاري 1295، 3936، مسلم 4296).
In the year of farewell Hajj, the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) came to see me when I was ill. At that time my body was in extreme pain. I said, 'O Messenger of Allah! My (physical) irritation has reached a severe stage--which you Seeing with your own eyes. And I am a rich man; But my heir is my only daughter. Shall I then give away two-thirds of my wealth?' He said, 'No.' I said, 'Then half the goods, O Messenger of Allah!' He said, "No." i said 'Then can I give one-third?' He said, "One-third (you can give), but one-third is too much. For if you leave your heirs rich, it is better than that you leave them poor and they are people." Will reach out. (Remember,) whatever you spend in order to gain the pleasure of Allah, you will be given in return. Even the food you put in your wife's mouth, you will get in return." (Bukhari 1295, 3936, Muslim 4296)
