قال: ذهبت ذات ليلة من رمضان مع عمر بن الخطاب إلى المسجد، فذهبت فإذا الناس في حيرة من أمرهم، هناك من يصلي وحده، وجماعة صغيرة خلف آخر يصلون بعد أن رأى هذا الوضع، فقال عمر: كان من الأفضل أن أجعل الجميع خلف إمام واحد، فأراد أن يفعل ذلك، وجمع الجميع على أبي بن كعب رضي الله عنه وجعله إمام الناس للناس. صلاة التراويح قال عبد الرحمن: فخرجت ذات يوم مع عمر إلى المسجد فرأيت الناس يصلون خلف إمامهم، فرأى عمر ذلك فقال: أفضل البدع، والصلاة في التراويح أفضل من الصلاة في نومك أداء صلاة التراويح في الجزء الأول (البخاري) [1] .
He said, "Once in the night of Ramadan, I went to the Masjid with Umar Ibnul Khattab (RA). I went there and saw people in a state of unsolved confusion. Someone is praying alone. And a small group behind someone is praying after seeing this situation ``Umar (RA) said, "It would be better if I put everyone behind one Imam." So he desired to do this and gathered everyone behind Ubai Ibn Ka'b (RA) and made him the Imam of the people for the Taraweeh Salat. Abdur Rahman said, Then one day I went to the Masjid with 'Umar. I saw all the people praying (Taraweeh) behind their Imam. 'Umar saw it and said, "The best innovation". And the prayer during Taraweeh is better than the prayer during your sleep. This word By 'Umar he meant the last night. That is, it is better to pray in the last part of Taraweeh than the first part of the night. People of that time used to perform Taraweeh prayer in the first part. (Bukhari) [1]
