عن عائشة رضي الله عنها أن رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم، كان يصلي ركعتين خفيفتين بين النداء والإقامة من صلاة الصبح‏"‏‏.‏ ‏(‏‏(‏متفق عليه‏)‏‏)‏ وفي رواية لهما‏:‏ يصلي ركعتي الفجر، إذا سمع الأذان فيخففهما حتى أقول هل قرأ فيهمابأم القرآن‏!‏‏.‏ وفي رواية لمسلم‏:‏ كان يصلى ركعتيي الفجر إذا سمع الأذان ويخففهما‏.‏ وفي رواية‏:‏ إذا طلع الفجر‏.‏
On the authority of Aisha, may God be pleased with her, that the Messenger of God, may God bless him and grant him peace, used to pray two light rak’ahs between the call and the iqama of the morning prayer. ((Agreed upon)) And in a narration by them: He would pray the two rak’ahs of Fajr when he heard the call to prayer, and he would shorten them until I said, “Did he recite the mother of the Qur’an in them?” And in a narration by Muslim: He would pray the two rak’ahs of Fajr if he heard the call to prayer, and he would shorten them.
