Mishkat al-Masabih — Hadith #52176

Then he took me up to heaven. The second time, it was opened and it was said: Who is this? He said: Gabriel. It was said: Who is with you? He said: Muhammad. It was said: Was it sent to him? He said: Yes. It was said: Welcome, so what a good coming. He came and opened. When I finished, I saw Yahya and Isa, who were cousins. He said: This is Yahya and this is Jesus. So he greeted them both, and I greeted one of them. Then they said: Welcome to the righteous brother and righteous prophet. Then he took me up to the third heaven and asked for it to be opened. It was said: Who is this? He said: Gabriel. It was said: Who is with you? He said: Muhammad. It was said: He was sent To him? He said: Yes. It was said: Welcome to him, so he came and opened, and when I finished, there was Joseph. He said: This is Joseph, so greet him, so I greeted him and he responded. Then he said: Welcome to the righteous brother and righteous prophet. Then he ascended with me until he reached the fourth heaven and asked for the opening. It was said: Who is this? He said: Gabriel. It was said: Who is with you? He said: Muhammad. It was said: Was it sent to him? He said: Yes. It was said: Welcome to him, so he came and opened, and when I finished, I found Idris. He said: This is Idris, so greet him, so I greeted him. He responded and then said: Welcome to the righteous brother and righteous prophet. Then he took me up until he reached the fifth heaven and asked for the opening. It was said: Who is this? He said: Gabriel. It was said: Who is with you? He said: Muhammad. It was said: Was it sent to him? He said: Yes. It was said: Welcome to him. He came and opened the door, and when I finished, I saw Aaron. He said: This is Aaron. So I greeted him. So I greeted him. It was said: What’s wrong with you? He said: I cry because a boy was sent after me, and more people from his nation will enter Paradise than those from my nation who will enter it. Then he took me up to the seventh heaven, and Gabriel asked for the prayer to be opened. It was said: Who is this? He said: Gabriel. It was said: Who is with you? He said: Muhammad. It was said: And he was sent to him? He said: Yes. It was said: Welcome to him, so what a good coming he came. When I was finished, I found Abraham. He said: This is your father Abraham. He greeted him. I greeted him and he returned my greetings. Then he said: Welcome to the righteous son and the righteous prophet. Then it was raised to Sidra Al-Muntaha, and if its stems were like the Qalal of Hajar, and when its leaves were like the ears of elephants, he said: This is Sidra Al-Muntaha, and then there were four rivers: two inner rivers and two outer rivers. I said: What are these? O Gabriel? He said: As for the two hidden ones, they are two rivers in Paradise, and as for the two apparent ones, they are the Nile and the Euphrates. Then the populated house was raised for me, then I brought a vessel of wine, a vessel of milk, and a vessel of honey. So I took the milk, and he said: It is the nature of you and your nation. Then fifty prayers were imposed on me every day, so I returned and passed it to Moses, and he said: What did you command? I said: I was ordered to perform fifty prayers every day. He said: Your nation cannot perform fifty prayers every day, and by God, I have tried the people before you You dealt with the children of Israel severely, so return to your Lord and ask for relief for your nation. So I returned, and he imposed ten prayers on my behalf. So I returned to Moses, and he said the same. So I returned, and he imposed ten prayers on my behalf. He said: When I passed, a caller called out: “I have fulfilled my obligation and made light of the burden for my servants.” Agreed upon.
