Sunan ad-Darimi — Hadith #53937

Suleiman bin Harb told us, Hammad bin Salamah told us, on the authority of Thabit, on the authority of Anas, may God be pleased with him: that the Jews used to menstruate when They did not eat the woman among them, nor did they drink it, and they took her out of the house, and she was not with them in the houses, so the Prophet, may God bless him and grant him peace, was asked upon him and grant him peace about that, so God Almighty revealed “And they ask you about menstruation. Say, ‘It is harm.’” Surat Al-Baqarah, verse 222 # So the Messenger of God, may God bless him and grant him peace, commanded them. He, peace and blessings be upon him, “that they should eat with them, that they should drink with them, that they should be with them in the homes, and that they should do everything except sexual intercourse.” Then the Jews said: This man does not want to abandon any of our affairs unless he disagrees with us in it. So Abbad bin Bishr and Usayd bin Hudayr, may God be pleased with him, came. About them to the Messenger of God, may God bless him and grant him peace, so they told him about that and said: O Messenger of God, shall we not marry them during menstruation? " Then the face of the Messenger of God, may God bless him and grant him peace, became so red that we thought he had found something on them, so they got up and came out with a “gift of milk.” Then the Messenger of God, may God’s prayers and peace be upon him, sent to go after them and bring them back and give them drink. So we learned that he was not angry with them.
