Sunan ad-Darimi — Hadith #55177

Muhammad bin Abdullah Al-Raqqashi narrated to us, Yazid bin Zurayi narrated to us, Muhammad bin Ishaq narrated to us, Bashir bin Yasar narrated to us, on the authority of Sahl Bin Abi Hathamah, he said: Abdullah bin Sahl bin Abi Hathamah, one of the Banu Haritha, went to Khaybar with a group of his people who wanted to Al-Mira in Khaybar. He said: Abdullah was attacked and killed. His neck was cut until he was soaked, then he was thrown into one of the waterholes of Khaybar, and he screamed. His companions attacked him, so they took him out and hid him, then they came to the Messenger of God, may God bless him and grant him peace, Medina, and his brother came forward. Abd al-Rahman bin Sahl, who was traveling with the Messenger of God, may God bless him and grant him peace, and his two cousins were with him: Huwaysa bin Masoud and Muhaiysa. Then Abd al-Rahman spoke. He was the youngest of them in age, and he was of good blood and had great standing among the people. When he spoke, the Messenger of God, may God’s prayers and peace be upon him, said: May God bless him and grant him peace: “Pride is pride.” He said: Then he delayed, and Huwaysa and Muhaysa spoke, then he, and the Messenger of God, may God bless him and grant him peace, said: “You name your killer, then you swear We will give him fifty oaths, then we will hand him over to you.” They said: O Messenger of God, we were not Let us swear to what we do not know, we do not know who killed him, except that the Jews are our enemy, and he was killed in their presence. He said: “Then they swear to you by God that they are innocent of your companion’s blood, then they are innocent of him.” They said: We would not accept the oaths of the Jews, for there is nothing more in them than them taking an oath. sin. He said: The Messenger of God, may God bless him and grant him peace, paid tribute to him with one hundred she-camels.
