Ahmad ibn 'Abdah al-Dabbi al-Basri, 'Ali ibn Hujr, and Abu Ja'far Muhammad ibn al-Husayn (who was the son of Abu Halimah) narrated to us, and the meaning is the same. They said: 'Isa ibn Yunus narrated to us, on the authority of 'Umar ibn 'Abd Allah, the freed slave of Ghufra, who said: Ibrahim ibn Muhammad, from the descendants of 'Ali ibn Abi Talib, narrated to me, saying: 'Ali, when He described the Messenger of God, may God bless him and grant him peace, saying: The Messenger of God, may God bless him and grant him peace, was neither excessively tall nor excessively short. He was of medium height. His hair was neither tightly curled nor completely straight, but rather loose and curly. He was neither excessively beautiful nor excessively veiled. His face was round, fair-skinned, with dark eyes and long eyelashes. His eyelashes were long, his joints and shoulders were thick, he was bald, with a prominent ridge, his hands and feet were rough, when he walked it was as if he were descending a slope, and when he turned he turned with both hands, between his shoulders was the Seal of Prophethood, and he was the Seal of the Prophets, the most generous of people, the most truthful in speech, the most gentle in nature, and the most honorable in companionship. Whoever saw him spontaneously was awed by him, and whoever He associated with him with knowledge and loved him. His describer says: I have not seen anyone like him before or after him, may God’s prayers and peace be upon him.

Sufyan ibn Waki’ told us, saying: Jami’ ibn ‘Umar ibn ‘Abd al-Rahman al-‘Ijli told us, dictating to us from his book, saying: A man from Banu Tamim, from the descendants of Abu Hala, the husband of Khadija, known as Abu ‘Abd Allah, told me, on the authority of a son of Abu Hala, on the authority of al-Hasan ibn ‘Ali, who said: I asked my maternal uncle Hind ibn Abi Hala, He was a describer of the Prophet's appearance, may God bless him and grant him peace, and I longed for him to describe something of it that I could hold onto. So he said: The Prophet, may God bless him and grant him peace, was majestic and dignified, his face radiant like the moon on the night of the full moon. He was taller than average height and shorter than thin. He had a large head and wavy hair. If his 'aqiqah (sacrifice for a newborn) was parted, he would separate the hair; otherwise, he would not let it grow longer. His hair, when he grew it long, was fair-skinned, with a broad forehead, arched eyebrows, and long, unbroken brows. Between them was a vein that throbbed with anger. He had a prominent nose, and a radiant light emanated from him. To one who did not observe him closely, he might think he had a prominent nose. He had a thick beard, smooth cheeks, a wide mouth, a gap between his teeth, and a fine line between his teeth. His neck is like a doll's, as clear as silver, of moderate build, well-proportioned and firm, with a balanced belly and chest, broad chest, wide shoulders, large joints, radiant nakedness, hair running like a line between the chest and navel, bare breasts and belly except for that, hairy arms, shoulders, and upper chest. Long forearms, broad palms, rough hands and feet, flowing limbs or he said: flowing limbs, hollow soles, smooth feet, water recoils from them, if it is removed, it is removed completely, he walks with a swaying gait, and walks gently, with a swift gait, when he walks it is as if he is descending from a slope, and when he turns he turns completely. He lowers his gaze, his eyes are more often on the ground than on the sky, his gaze is mostly observant, he leads his companions, and he greets whomever he meets first.

Sufyan ibn Waki’ and Muhammad ibn Bashar told us, the meaning is the same, they said: Yazid ibn Harun informed us, on the authority of Sa’id al-Jurayri, he said: I heard Abu al-Tufayl say: I saw the Prophet, may God bless him and grant him peace, and there was no one left on the face of the earth who had seen him besides me. I said: Describe him to me. He said: He was white, handsome, and of medium build.

Abdullah ibn Abdur-Rahman told us: Ibrahim ibn Al-Mundhir Al-Hizami told us: Abdul-Aziz ibn Abi Thabit Az-Zuhri told us: Ismail ibn Ibrahim, the nephew of Musa ibn Uqba, told me, on the authority of Musa ibn Uqba, on the authority of Kurayb, on the authority of Ibn Abbas, who said: The Messenger of Allah, may God bless him and grant him peace, had a gap between his teeth. His two front teeth, when he spoke, it was seen as light coming out from between his front teeth.

“The Prophet (Allah bless him and give him peace) was neither tall nor short, endowed with sturdy hands and feet, stout head and limbs, and lengthy hair on the chest. When he walked, he inclined forward, as if he were descending a downward slope. I have never seen the like of him, neither before him nor after him.”
