Ash-Shama'il Al-Muhammadiyah # 8/55
حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ حُمَيْدٍ الرَّازِيُّ، قَالَ: حَدَّثَنَا الْفَضْلُ بْنُ مُوسَى، وَأَبُو تُمَيْلَةَ، وَزَيْدُ بْنُ حُبَابٍ، عَنْ عَبْدِ الْمُؤْمِنِ بْنِ خَالِدٍ، عَنْ عَبْدِ اللهِ بْنِ بُرَيْدَةَ، عَنْ أُمِّ سَلَمَةَ، قَالَتْ: كَانَ أَحَبَّ الثِّيَابِ إِلَى رَسُولِ اللهِ صلى الله عليه وسلم الْقَمِيصُ.
Muhammad ibn Humayd al-Razi narrated to us, saying: Al-Fadl ibn Musa, Abu Tamailah, and Zayd ibn Hubab narrated to us, on the authority of Abd al-Mu’min ibn Khaled, on the authority of Abdullah bin Buraidah, on the authority of Umm Salamah, who said: The most beloved garment to the Messenger of God, may God bless him and grant him peace, was the shirt.

Ash-Shama'il Al-Muhammadiyah # 8/56
حَدَّثَنَا عَلِيُّ بْنُ حُجْرٍ، قَالَ: حَدَّثَنَا الْفَضْلُ بْنُ مُوسَى، عَنْ عَبْدِ الْمُؤْمِنِ بْنِ خَالِدٍ، عَنْ عَبْدِ اللهِ بْنِ بُرَيْدَةَ، عَنْ أُمِّ سَلَمَةَ، قَالَتْ: كَانَ أَحَبَّ الثِّيَابِ إِلَى رَسُولِ اللهِ صلى الله عليه وسلم الْقَمِيصُ.
Ali bin Hajar told us, he said: Al-Fadl bin Musa told us, on the authority of Abdul-Mu’min bin Khalid, on the authority of Abdullah bin Buraidah, on the authority of Umm Salamah said: The most beloved garment of the Messenger of God, may God bless him and grant him peace, was the shirt.

حَدَّثَنَا زِيَادُ بْنُ أَيُّوبَ الْبَغْدَادِيُّ، قَالَ: حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو تُمَيْلَةَ، عَنْ عَبْدِ الْمُؤْمِنِ بْنِ خَالِدٍ، عَنْ عَبْدِ اللهِ بْنِ بُرَيْدَةَ، عَنْ أَمِّهِ، عَنْ أُمِّ سَلَمَةَ، قَالَتْ: كَانَ أَحَبَّ الثِّيَابِ إِلَى رَسُولِ اللهِ صلى الله عليه وسلم يَلْبَسُهُ، الْقَمِيصُ.
Ziyad bin Ayyub Al-Baghdadi told us, he said: Abu Tamila told us, on the authority of Abdul-Mu’min bin Khaled, on the authority of Abdullah bin Buraidah, On the authority of his mother, on the authority of Umm Salamah, she said: The most beloved garment that the Messenger of God, may God bless him and grant him peace, wore was the shirt.

حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ اللهِ بْنُ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ الْحَجَّاجِ، قَالَ: حَدَّثَنَا مُعَاذُ بْنُ هِشَامٍ، قَالَ: حَدَّثَنِي أَبِي، عَنْ بُدَيْلٍ يَعْنِي ابْنَ مَيْسَرَةَ الْعُقَيْلِيَّ، عَنْ شَهْرِ بْنِ حَوْشَبٍ، عَنْ أَسْمَاءَ بِنْتِ يَزِيدَ، قَالَتْ: كَانَ كُمُّ قَمِيصِ رَسُولِ اللهِ صلى الله عليه وسلم إِلَى الرُّسْغِ.
Abdullah bin Muhammad bin Al-Hajjaj narrated to us, saying: Muadh bin Hisham narrated to us, saying: My father narrated to me, on the authority of Badil, meaning Ibn Maysara. Al-Uqaili, on the authority of Shahr ibn Hawshab, on the authority of Asma bint Yazid, who said: The sleeve of the shirt of the Messenger of God, may God bless him and grant him peace, reached to the wrist.

Ash-Shama'il Al-Muhammadiyah # 8/59
حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو عَمَّارٍ الْحُسَيْنُ بْنُ حُرَيْثٍ، قَالَ: حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو نُعَيْمٍ، قَالَ: حَدَّثَنَا زُهَيْرٌ، عَنْ عُرْوَةَ بْنِ عَبْدِ اللهِ بْنِ قُشَيْرٍ، عَنْ مُعَاوِيَةَ بْنِ قُرَّةَ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ، قَالَ: أَتَيْتُ رَسُولَ اللهِ صلى الله عليه وسلم فِي رَهْطٍ مِنْ مُزَيْنَةَ لِنُبَايِعَهُ، وَإِنَّ قَمِيصَهُ لَمُطْلَقٌ، أَوْ قَالَ: زِرُّ قَمِيصِهِ مُطْلَقٌ قَالَ: فَأَدْخَلْتُ يَدِي فِي جَيْبِ قَمِيصِهِ، فَمَسَسْتُ الْخَاتَمَ.
Abu Ammar Al-Hussein bin Harith narrated to us, he said: Abu Nu’aym narrated to us, he said: Zuhayr narrated to us, on the authority of Urwa bin Abdullah bin Qusayr, On the authority of Muawiyah ibn Qurrah, on the authority of his father, he said: I came to the Messenger of God, may God bless him and grant him peace, in a group of decorated places to pledge allegiance to him, and his shirt was Absolutely, or he said: The button of his shirt is unbuttoned. He said: So I put my hand into the pocket of his shirt and touched the ring.

Ash-Shama'il Al-Muhammadiyah # 8/60
حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ بْنُ حُمَيْدٍ، قَالَ: حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ الْفَضْلِ، قَالَ: حَدَّثَنَا حَمَّادُ بْنُ سَلَمَةَ، عَنْ حَبِيبِ بْنِ الشَّهِيدِ، عَنِ الْحَسَنِ، عَنْ أَنَسِ بْنِ مَالِكٍ، أَنَّ النَّبِيَّ صلى الله عليه وسلم خَرَجَ وَهُوَ يَتَّكِئُ عَلَى أُسَامَةَ بْنِ زَيْدٍ عَلَيْهِ ثَوْبٌ قِطْرِيٌّ، قَدْ تَوَشَّحَ بِهِ، فَصَلَّى بِهِمْ.
Abdul bin Humaid told us, he said: Muhammad bin Al-Fadl told us, he said: Hammad bin Salamah told us, on the authority of Habib bin Al-Shahid, on the authority of Al-Hasan, On the authority of Anas bin Malik, that the Prophet, may God’s prayers and peace be upon him, went out and was reclining on Usama bin Zaid, wearing a Qatari garment, with which he had wrapped himself. حَدَّثَنَا سُوَيْدُ بْنُ نَصْرٍ، قَالَ: حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ اللهِ بْنُ الْمُبَارَكِ، عَنْ سَعِيدِ بْنِ إِيَاسٍ الْجُرَيْرِيِّ، عَنْ أَبِي نَضْرَةَ، عَنْ أَبِي سَعِيدٍ الْخُدْرِيِّ، قَالَ: كَانَ رَسُولُ اللهِ صلى الله عليه وسلم، إِذَا اسْتَجَدَّ ثَوْبًا سَمَّاهُ بِاسْمِهِ عِمَامَةً أَوْ قَمِيصًا أَوْ رِدَاءً، ثُمَّ يَقُولُ: اللَّهُمَّ لَكَ الْحَمْدُ كَمَا كَسَوْتَنِيهِ، أَسْأَلُكَ خَيْرَهُ وَخَيْرَ مَا صُنِعَ لَهُ، وَأَعُوذُ بِكَ مِنْ شَرِّهِ وَشَرِّ مَا صُنِعَ لَهُ.
حَدَّثَنَا هِشَامُ بْنُ يُونُسَ الْكُوفِيُّ، قَالَ: حَدَّثَنَا الْقَاسِمُ بْنُ مَالِكٍ الْمُزَنِيُّ، عَنِ الْجُرَيْرِيِّ، عَنْ أَبِي نَضْرَةَ، عَنْ أَبِي سَعِيدٍ الْخُدْرِيِّ، عَنِ النَّبِيِّ صلى الله عليه وسلم، نَحْوَهُ.
حَدَّثَنَا هِشَامُ بْنُ يُونُسَ الْكُوفِيُّ، قَالَ: حَدَّثَنَا الْقَاسِمُ بْنُ مَالِكٍ الْمُزَنِيُّ، عَنِ الْجُرَيْرِيِّ، عَنْ أَبِي نَضْرَةَ، عَنْ أَبِي سَعِيدٍ الْخُدْرِيِّ، عَنِ النَّبِيِّ صلى الله عليه وسلم، نَحْوَهُ.
Suwayd bin Nasr told us, he said: Abdullah bin Al-Mubarak told us, on the authority of Sa’id bin Iyas Al-Jariri, on the authority of Abu Nadra, on the authority of Abu Sa’id Al-Khudri said: Whenever the Messenger of God, may God’s prayers and peace be upon him, would find a piece of clothing, he would call it by name: a turban, or a shirt, or a robe, and then he would say: O God, praise be to You as You clothed him. I ask You for his goodness and the goodness of what was done to him, and I seek refuge in You from his evil and the evil of what was done to him. Hisham told us. Ibn Yunus Al-Kufi, he said: Al-Qasim Ibn Malik Al-Muzani narrated to us, on the authority of Al-Jariri, on the authority of Abu Nadra, on the authority of Abu Sa’id Al-Khudri, on the authority of The Prophet, may God bless him and grant him peace, is like that

Ash-Shama'il Al-Muhammadiyah # 8/63
حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ بَشَّارٍ، قَالَ: حَدَّثَنَا مُعَاذُ بْنُ هِشَامٍ، قَالَ: حَدَّثَنِي أَبِي، عَنْ قَتَادَةَ، عَنْ أَنَسِ بْنِ مَالِكٍ، قَالَ: كَانَ أَحَبَّ الثِّيَابِ إِلَى رَسُولِ اللهِ صلى الله عليه وسلم، يَلْبَسُهُ الْحِبَرَةُ.
Muhammad bin Bashar told us, he said: Muadh bin Hisham told us, he said: My father told me, on the authority of Qatada, on the authority of Anas bin Malik, he said: It was The most beloved clothing of the Messenger of God, may God bless him and grant him peace, is the one he wears.

Ash-Shama'il Al-Muhammadiyah # 8/64
حَدَّثَنَا مَحْمُودُ بْنُ غَيْلانَ، قَالَ: حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الرَّزَّاقِ، قَالَ: حَدَّثَنَا سُفْيَانُ، عَنْ عَوْنِ بْنِ أَبِي جُحَيْفَةَ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ، قَالَ: رَأَيْتُ النَّبِيَّ صلى الله عليه وسلم، وَعَلَيْهِ حُلَّةٌ حَمْرَاءُ، كَأَنِّي أَنْظُرُ إِلَى بَرِيقِ سَاقَيْهِ.
Mahmoud bin Ghaylan told us, he said: Abd al-Razzaq told us, he said: Sufyan told us, on the authority of Aoun bin Abi Juhayfah, on the authority of his father, he said: I saw the Prophet, may God bless him and grant him peace, wearing a red robe, as if I could see the shine of his legs.

Ash-Shama'il Al-Muhammadiyah # 8/65
حَدَّثَنَا عَلِيُّ بْنُ خَشْرَمٍ، قَالَ: حَدَّثَنَا عِيسَى بْنُ يُونُسَ، عَنْ إِسْرَائِيلَ، عَنْ أَبِي إِسْحَاقَ، عَنِ الْبَرَاءِ بْنِ عَازِبٍ، قَالَ: مَا رَأَيْتُ أَحَدًا مِنَ النَّاسِ أَحْسَنَ فِي حُلَّةٍ حَمْرَاءَ، مِنْ رَسُولِ اللهِ صلى الله عليه وسلم، إِنْ كَانَتْ جُمَّتُهُ لَتَضْرِبُ قَرِيبًا مِنْ مَنْكِبَيْهِ.
Ali bin Khashram narrated to us, he said: Issa bin Yunus narrated to us, on the authority of Israel, on the authority of Abu Ishaq, on the authority of Al-Bara’ bin Aazib, he said: I did not see Is there anyone more beautiful in a red suit than the Messenger of God, may God bless him and grant him peace, if his head were to be struck close to his shoulders?

Ash-Shama'il Al-Muhammadiyah # 8/66
حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ بَشَّارٍ، قَالَ: حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنُ مَهْدِيٍّ، قَالَ: حَدَّثَنَا عُبَيْدُ اللهِ بْنُ إِيَادٍ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ، عَنْ أَبِي رِمْثَةَ، قَالَ: رَأَيْتُ النَّبِيَّ صلى الله عليه وسلم، وَعَلَيْهِ بُرْدَانِ أَخْضَرَانِ.
Muhammad bin Bashar told us, he said: Abd al-Rahman bin Mahdi told us, he said: Ubayd Allah bin Iyad told us, on the authority of his father, on the authority of my father Ramthah said: I saw the Prophet, may God bless him and grant him peace, wearing two green garments.

حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ بْنُ حُمَيْدٍ، قَالَ: حَدَّثَنَا عَفَّانُ بْنُ مُسْلِمٍ، قَالَ: حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ اللهِ بْنُ حَسَّانَ الْعَنْبَرِيُّ، عَنْ جَدَّتَيْهِ دُحَيْبَةَ، وَعُلَيْبَةَ، عَنْ قَيْلَةَ بِنْتِ مَخْرَمَةَ، قَالَتْ: رَأَيْتُ النَّبِيَّ صلى الله عليه وسلم وَعَلَيْهِ أَسْمَالُ مُلَيَّتَيْنِ، كَانَتَا بِزَعْفَرَانٍ، وَقَدْ نَفَضَتْهُ وَفِي الْحَدِيثِ قِصَّةٌ طَوِيلَةٌ.
Abdullah bin Humaid told us, he said: Affan bin Muslim told us, he said: Abdullah bin Hassan Al-Anbari told us, on the authority of his two grandmothers, Duhaiba, Ulaibah, on the authority of Qayla bint Makhramah, said: I saw the Prophet, may God’s prayers and peace be upon him, wearing the scarves of two milliliters, which were made of saffron. حَدَّثَنَا قُتَيْبَةُ بْنُ سَعِيدٍ، قَالَ: حَدَّثَنَا بِشْرُ بْنُ الْمُفَضَّلِ، عَنْ عَبْدِ اللهِ بْنِ عُثْمَانَ بْنِ خُثَيْمٍ، عَنْ سَعِيدِ بْنِ جُبَيْرٍ، عَنِ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ، قَالَ: قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ صلى الله عليه وسلم: عَلَيْكُمْ بِالْبَيَاضِ مِنَ الثِّيَابِ، لِيَلْبِسْهَا أَحْيَاؤُكُمْ، وَكَفِّنُوا فِيهَا مَوْتَاكُمْ، فَإِنَّهَا مِنْ خِيَارِ ثِيَابِكُمْ.
Qutayba bin Saeed narrated to us, saying: Bishr bin Al-Mufaddal narrated to us, on the authority of Abdullah bin Uthman bin Khuthaym, on the authority of Saeed bin Jubayr, on the authority of Ibn Abbas said: The Messenger of God, may God bless him and grant him peace, said: You must wear white clothes so that your living may wear them, and shroud your dead in them. It is one of your best clothes

حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ بَشَّارٍ، قَالَ: حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنُ مَهْدِيٍّ، قَالَ: حَدَّثَنَا سُفْيَانُ، عَنْ حَبِيبِ بْنِ أَبِي ثَابِتٍ، عَنْ مَيْمُونِ بْنِ أَبِي شَبِيبٍ، عَنْ سَمُرَةَ بْنِ جُنْدُبٍ، قَالَ: قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ صلى الله عليه وسلم: الْبَسُوا الْبَيَاضَ، فَإِنَّهَا أَطْهَرُ وَأَطْيَبُ، وَكَفِّنُوا فِيهَا مَوْتَاكُمْ.
Muhammad bin Bashar told us, he said: Abd al-Rahman bin Mahdi told us, he said: Sufyan told us, on the authority of Habib bin Abi Thabit, on the authority of Maymun Ibn Abi Shabib, on the authority of Samurah Ibn Jundub, said: The Messenger of God, may God bless him and grant him peace, said: Wear white, for it is purer and more fragrant. Ash-Shama'il Al-Muhammadiyah # 8/70
حَدَّثَنَا أَحْمَدُ بْنُ مَنِيعٍ، حَدَّثَنَا يَحْيَى بْنُ زَكَرِيَّا بْنِ أَبِي زَائِدَةَ، قَالَ: حَدَّثَنَا أَبِي، عَنْ مُصْعَبِ بْنِ شَيْبَةَ، عَنْ صَفِيَّةَ بِنْتِ شَيْبَةَ، عَنْ عَائِشَةَ، قَالَتْ: خَرَجَ رَسُولُ اللهِ صلى الله عليه وسلم ذَاتَ غَدَاةٍ، وَعَلَيْهِ مِرْطٌ مِنْ شَعَرٍ أَسْودَ.
Ahmad bin Mani’ told us, Yahya bin Zakaria bin Abi Zaida told us, he said: My father told us, on the authority of Mus’ab bin Shaybah, on the authority of Safiya Bint Shaybah, on the authority of Aisha, said: The Messenger of God, may God bless him and grant him peace, went out one morning, wearing a black hair band.

Ash-Shama'il Al-Muhammadiyah # 8/71
حَدَّثَنَا يُوسُفُ بْنُ عِيسَى، قَالَ: حَدَّثَنَا وَكِيعٌ، قَالَ: حَدَّثَنَا يُونُسُ بْنُ أَبِي إِسْحَاقَ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ، عَنِ الشَّعْبِيِّ، عَنْ عُرْوَةَ بْنِ الْمُغِيرَةِ بْنِ شُعْبَةَ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ، أَنَّ النَّبِيَّ صلى الله عليه وسلم، لَبِسَ جُبَّةً رُومِيَّةً، ضَيِّقَةَ الْكُمَّيْنِ.
Yusuf bin Issa narrated to us, he said: Waki’ narrated to us, he said: Yunus bin Abi Ishaq narrated to us, on the authority of his father, on the authority of Al-Sha’bi, on the authority of Urwa bin Al-Mugheerah bin Shu’bah, on the authority of his father, that the Prophet, may God’s prayers and peace be upon him, wore a Roman robe with narrow sleeves.

حَدَّثَنَا سُوَيْدُ بْنُ نَصْرٍ، قَالَ: حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ اللهِ بْنُ الْمُبَارَكِ، عَنْ سَعِيدِ بْنِ إِيَاسٍ الْجُرَيْرِيِّ، عَنْ أَبِي نَضْرَةَ، عَنْ أَبِي سَعِيدٍ الْخُدْرِيِّ، قَالَ: كَانَ رَسُولُ اللهِ صلى الله عليه وسلم، إِذَا اسْتَجَدَّ ثَوْبًا سَمَّاهُ بِاسْمِهِ عِمَامَةً أَوْ قَمِيصًا أَوْ رِدَاءً، ثُمَّ يَقُولُ: اللَّهُمَّ لَكَ الْحَمْدُ كَمَا كَسَوْتَنِيهِ، أَسْأَلُكَ خَيْرَهُ وَخَيْرَ مَا صُنِعَ لَهُ، وَأَعُوذُ بِكَ مِنْ شَرِّهِ وَشَرِّ مَا صُنِعَ لَهُ.
حَدَّثَنَا هِشَامُ بْنُ يُونُسَ الْكُوفِيُّ، قَالَ: حَدَّثَنَا الْقَاسِمُ بْنُ مَالِكٍ الْمُزَنِيُّ، عَنِ الْجُرَيْرِيِّ، عَنْ أَبِي نَضْرَةَ، عَنْ أَبِي سَعِيدٍ الْخُدْرِيِّ، عَنِ النَّبِيِّ صلى الله عليه وسلم، نَحْوَهُ.
حَدَّثَنَا هِشَامُ بْنُ يُونُسَ الْكُوفِيُّ، قَالَ: حَدَّثَنَا الْقَاسِمُ بْنُ مَالِكٍ الْمُزَنِيُّ، عَنِ الْجُرَيْرِيِّ، عَنْ أَبِي نَضْرَةَ، عَنْ أَبِي سَعِيدٍ الْخُدْرِيِّ، عَنِ النَّبِيِّ صلى الله عليه وسلم، نَحْوَهُ.
"When Allah’s Messenger (Allah bless him and give him peace) donned a new garment, he would call it by its name, then he would say: 'O Allah praise be to You, as You have clothed me with it! I beg You for its goodness and the goodness of what it has been made for, and I take refuge with You from its evil and the evil of what it has been made for!’”
