Ash-Shama'il Al-Muhammadiyah # 24/142
حدثني مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ الْمُثَنَّى، وَمُحَمَّدُ بْنُ بَشَّارٍ، قَالا: حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ جَعْفَرٍ، قَالَ: حَدَّثَنَا شُعْبَةُ، عَنْ أَبِي إِسْحَاقَ، قَالَ: سَمِعْتُ عَبْدَ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنَ يَزِيدَ، يُحَدِّثُ عَنِ الأَسْوَدِ بْنِ يَزِيدَ، عَنْ عَائِشَةَ، أَنَّهَا قَالَتْ: مَا شَبِعَ آلُ مُحَمَّدٍ صلى الله عليه وسلم مِنْ خُبْزِ الشَّعِيرِ يَوْمَيْنِ مُتَتَابِعَيْنِ حَتَّى قُبِضَ رَسُولُ اللهِ صلى الله عليه وسلم.
Muhammad ibn al-Muthanna and Muhammad ibn Bashar told me: Muhammad ibn Ja'far told us: Shu'bah told us, on the authority of Abu Ishaq, who said: I heard Abd al-Rahman ibn Yazid narrating on the authority of al-Aswad ibn Yazid, on the authority of Aisha, that she said: The family of Muhammad, peace and blessings be upon him, never ate their fill of barley bread for two consecutive days until the Messenger of God passed away. God, may God bless him and grant him peace.

Ash-Shama'il Al-Muhammadiyah # 24/143
حَدَّثَنَا عَبَّاسُ بْنُ مُحَمَّدٍ الدُّورِيُّ، قَالَ: حَدَّثَنَا يَحْيَى بْنُ أَبِي بُكَيْرٍ، قَالَ: حَدَّثَنَا حَرِيزُ بْنُ عُثْمَانَ، عَنْ سُلَيْمِ بْنِ عَامِرٍ، قَالَ: سَمِعْتُ أَبَا أُمَامَةَ الْبَاهِلِيَّ، يَقُولُ: مَا كَانَ يَفْضُلُ عَنِ أَهْلِ بَيْتِ رَسُولِ اللهِ صلى الله عليه وسلم خُبْزُ الشَّعِيرِ.
Abbas ibn Muhammad al-Duri told us, saying: Yahya ibn Abi Bukair told us, saying: Hariz ibn Uthman told us, on the authority of Sulaym ibn Amir, who said: I heard Abu Umamah al-Bahili say: The family of the Messenger of God, may God bless him and grant him peace, never had more than barley bread.

حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ اللهِ بْنُ مُعَاوِيَةَ الْجُمَحِيُّ، قَالَ: حَدَّثَنَا ثَابِتُ بْنُ يَزِيدَ، عَنْ هِلاَلِ بْنِ خَبَّابٍ، عَنْ عِكْرِمَةَ، عَنِ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ، قَالَ: كَانَ رَسُولُ اللهِ صلى الله عليه وسلم، يَبِيتُ اللَّيَالِيَ الْمُتَتَابِعَةَ طَاوِيًا هُوَ وَأَهْلُهُ، لا يَجِدُونُ عِشَاءً وَكَانَ أَكْثَرُ خُبْزِهِمْ، خُبْزَ الشَّعِيرِ.
Abdullah ibn Mu’awiyah al-Jumahi told us: Thabit ibn Yazid told us, on the authority of Hilal ibn Khabbab, on the authority of Ikrimah, on the authority of Ibn Abbas, who said: The Messenger of God, may God bless him and grant him peace, would spend consecutive nights hungry, he and his family, without finding anything for dinner, and most of their bread was barley bread.

Ash-Shama'il Al-Muhammadiyah # 24/145
حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ اللهِ بْنُ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ، قَالَ: حَدَّثَنَا عُبَيْدُ اللهِ بْنُ عَبْدِ الْمَجِيدِ الْحَنَفِيُّ، حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنُ عَبْدِ اللهِ بْنِ دِينَارٍ، قَالَ: حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو حَازِمٍ، عَنْ سَهْلِ بْنِ سَعْدٍ، أَنَّهُ قِيلَ لَهُ: أَكَلَ رَسُولُ اللهِ صلى الله عليه وسلم النَّقِيَّ؟ يَعْنِي الْحُوَّارَى فَقَالَ سَهْلٌ: مَا رَأَى رَسُولُ اللهِ صلى الله عليه وسلم النَّقِيَّ حَتَّى لَقِيَ اللَّهَ عَزَّ وَجَلَّ تَعَالَى، فَقِيلَ لَهُ: هَلْ كَانَتْ لَكُمْ مَنَاخِلُ عَلَى عَهْدِ رَسُولِ اللهِ صلى الله عليه وسلم؟
Abdullah ibn Abdur-Rahman told us: Ubaydullah ibn Abd al-Majid al-Hanafi told us: Abdur-Rahman ibn Abdullah ibn Dinar told us: Abu Hazim told us, on the authority of Sahl ibn Sa’d, that he was asked: Did the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) eat pure meat? Meaning the white meat. Sahl replied: The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) never saw pure meat until… He met God Almighty, and it was said to him: Did you have sieves during the time of the Messenger of God, may God bless him and grant him peace?

Ash-Shama'il Al-Muhammadiyah # 24/146
حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ بَشَّارٍ، قَالَ: حَدَّثَنَا مُعَاذُ بْنُ هِشَامٍ، قَالَ: حَدَّثَنِي أَبِي، عَنْ يُونُسَ، عَنْ قَتَادَةَ، عَنْ أَنَسِ بْنِ مَالِكٍ، قَالَ: مَا أَكَلَ نَبِيُّ اللهِ عَلَى خِوَانٍ، وَلا فِي سُكُرَّجَةٍ، وَلا خُبِزَ لَهُ مُرَقَّقٌ قَالَ: فَقُلْتُ لِقَتَادَةَ: فَعَلامَ كَانُوا يَأْكُلُونَ؟ قَالَ: عَلَى هَذِهِ السُّفَرِ قَالَ مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ بَشَّارٍ: يُونُسُ هَذَا الَّذِي رَوَى عَنْ قَتَادَةَ هُوَ يُونُسُ الإِسْكَافُ.
Muhammad ibn Bashar told us, saying: Mu'adh ibn Hisham told us, saying: My father told me, on the authority of Yunus, on the authority of Qatadah, on the authority of Anas ibn Malik, who said: The Prophet of God never ate on a table, nor in a bowl, nor was thin bread ever baked for him. He said: So I said to Qatadah: Then what did they eat on? He said: On these mats. Muhammad ibn Bashar said: This Yunus who narrated from Qatadah is Yunus the cobbler.

Ash-Shama'il Al-Muhammadiyah # 24/147
حَدَّثَنَا أَحْمَدُ بْنُ مَنِيعٍ، قَالَ: حَدَّثَنَا عَبَّادُ بْنُ عَبَّادٍ الْمُهَلَّبِيُّ، عَنْ مُجَالِدٍ، عَنِ الشَّعْبِيِّ، عَنْ مَسْرُوقٍ، قَالَ: دَخَلْتُ عَلَى عَائِشَةَ، فَدَعَتْ لِي بِطَعَامٍ وَقَالَتْ: مَا أَشْبَعُ مِنْ طَعَامٍ فَأَشَاءُ أَنْ أَبْكِيَ إِلا بَكِيتُ قَالَ: قُلْتُ لِمَ؟ قَالَتْ: أَذْكُرُ الْحَالَ الَّتِي فَارَقَ عَلَيْهَا رَسُولُ اللهِ صلى الله عليه وسلم الدُّنْيَا، وَاللَّهِ مَا شَبِعَ مِنْ خُبْزٍ وَلَحْمٍ مَرَّتَيْنِ فِي يَوْمٍ.
Ahmad ibn Mani’ told us, saying: ‘Abbad ibn ‘Abbad al-Muhallabi told us, on the authority of Mujalid, on the authority of al-Sha’bi, on the authority of Masruq, who said: I entered upon ‘A’isha, and she called for food for me and said: I never eat my fill of food and then want to cry, but I cry. He said: I said: Why? She said: I remember the state in which the Messenger of God, may God bless him and grant him peace, departed this world. By God, he never ate his fill of bread and meat twice in one day.

حَدَّثَنَا مَحْمُودُ بْنُ غَيْلانَ، قَالَ: حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو دَاوُدَ، قَالَ: حَدَّثَنَا شُعْبَةُ، عَنْ أَبِي إِسْحَاقَ، قَالَ: سَمِعْتُ عَبْدَ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنَ يَزِيدَ يُحَدِّثُ، عَنِ الأَسْوَدِ بْنِ يَزِيدَ، عَنْ عَائِشَةَ، قَالَتْ: مَا شَبِعَ رَسُولُ اللهِ صلى الله عليه وسلم مِنْ خُبْزِ الشَّعِيرِ يَوْمَيْنِ مُتَتَابِعَيْنِ حَتَّى قُبِضَ.
Mahmud ibn Ghaylan told us, saying: Abu Dawud told us, saying: Shu’bah told us, on the authority of Abu Ishaq, saying: I heard Abd al-Rahman ibn Yazid narrating, on the authority of al-Aswad ibn Yazid, on the authority of Aisha, who said: The Messenger of God, may God bless him and grant him peace, never ate his fill of barley bread for two consecutive days until he passed away.

Ash-Shama'il Al-Muhammadiyah # 24/149
حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ اللهِ بْنُ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ، قَالَ: حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ اللهِ بْنُ عَمْرٍو أَبُو مَعْمَرٍ، حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الْوَارِثِ، عَنْ سَعِيدِ بْنِ أَبِي عَرُوبَةَ، عَنْ قَتَادَةَ، عَنْ أَنَسٍ، قَالَ: مَا أَكَلَ رَسُولُ اللهِ صلى الله عليه وسلم عَلَى خِوَانٍ، وَلا أَكَلَ خُبْزًا مُرَقَّقًا حَتَّى مَاتَ.
Abdullah ibn Abd al-Rahman told us: Abdullah ibn Amr Abu Ma’mar told us: Abd al-Warith told us, on the authority of Sa’id ibn Abi Arubah, on the authority of Qatadah, on the authority of Anas, who said: The Messenger of Allah, may God bless him and grant him peace, never ate on a tray, nor did he eat thin bread until he died.
