Jami' at-Tirmidhi — Hadith #26228

Hanad, Qutaibah, and Abu Kurayb narrated to us, they said, Waki’ narrated to us, on the authority of Al-Amash, he said, I heard Mujahid, narrating on the authority of Tawus, on the authority of Ibn Abbas, that the Prophet, may God’s prayers and peace be upon him, passed by two graves and said, “They are being tortured, and they are not being tortured for a major grave, but this one was not concealed.” From his urine, and as for this man, he used to go about slandering.” Abu Issa said, and on the authority of Abu Hurairah, Abu Musa, and Abd al-Rahman. Ibn Hasanah, Zaid bin Thabit, and Abu Bakra. Abu Issa said: This is a good and authentic hadith. Mansour narrated this hadith on the authority of Mujahid on the authority of Ibn Abbas, and he did not mention Tawus in it. The narration of Al-A’mash is more correct. He said, “I heard Abu Bakr Muhammad bin Aban Al-Balkhi, Mustamli.” Waki’ says: I heard Waki’ say: Al-A’mash has a better memory of the chain of transmission of Ibrahim than Mansur.
