Hadith #27071
Qutaibah narrated to us, Al-Layth narrated to us, on the authority of Nafi’, on the authority of Ibn Umar, who said: The Messenger of God, may God bless him and grant him peace, shaved his hair and a group of his companions shaved their heads, and some of them cut their hair. Ibn Omar said that the Messenger of God, may God bless him and grant him peace, said, “May God have mercy on those who shave their hair,” once or twice, then he said. And those who are negligent. He said, and on the authority of Ibn Abbas, Ibn Umm al-Husayn, Ma’rib, Abu Sa’id, Abu Maryam, and Habashi ibn Junada. And Abu Hurairah. Abu Issa said: This is a good and authentic hadith. This is acted upon according to the people of knowledge. They choose for a man to shave His head And if he falls short, they believe that this is sufficient for him. This is the opinion of Sufyan al-Thawri, al-Shafi’i, Ahmad, and Ishaq.
