Jami' at-Tirmidhi — Hadith #28352

Qutaibah narrated to us, Al-Layth narrated to us, on the authority of Ayyash bin Abbas, on the authority of Bukayr bin Abdullah bin Al-Ashjaj, on the authority of Busr bin Saeed, that Saad Ibn Abi Waqqas said, during the turmoil of Uthman ibn Affan, I bear witness that the Messenger of God, may God bless him and grant him peace, said, “It will be a turmoil for the one sitting in it.” He is better than the one who stands, and the one who stands is better than the walker, and the walker is better than the one who runs.” He said, “What have you seen if he enters my house and stretches out his hand to kill me?” He said, “Be like the son of Adam.” Abu Issa said, and on the authority of Abu Hurairah, Khabab bin Al-Art, Abu Bakra, and Ibn Masoud, Abu Waqid, Abu Musa, and Kharsha. This is a hasan hadith. Some of them narrated this hadith on the authority of Al-Layth bin Saad and added In the chain of transmission there is a man. Abu Issa said: This hadith was narrated on the authority of Saad on the authority of the Prophet, may God bless him and grant him peace, through another route.
