Hadith #30105
Ibrahim bin Yaqoub, and more than one person, narrated to us. They said, Wahb bin Jarir narrated to us, he said, My father narrated to us. He said, I heard Abdullah bin Malaz, He narrates on the authority of Numair ibn Aws, on the authority of Malik ibn Masruh, on the authority of Amer ibn Abi Amir al-Ash’ari, on the authority of his father, he said: The Messenger of God, may God’s prayers and peace be upon him, said He said, “How good are the living lions and the Ash’ar’un. They do not flee in battle, nor do they go astray. They are from me, and I am from them.” He said, “I told Mu’awiyah about that.” He said, “It is not like that.” The Messenger of God said, “They are from me and to me.” I said, “It is not like that. My father told me, but he told me.” I heard the Messenger of God, may God bless him and grant him peace, saying, “They are of me and I am of them.” He said, “You know best the hadith of your father.” He said, “This is a good hadith.” It is strange and we do not know it except from the hadith of Wahb bin Jarir. It is said that the lions are the lions.
