حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو سَلَمَةَ، يَحْيَى بْنُ خَلَفٍ وَحُمَيْدُ بْنُ مَسْعَدَةَ قَالاَ حَدَّثَنَا بِشْرُ بْنُ الْمُفَضَّلِ، حَدَّثَنَا يُونُسُ بْنُ عُبَيْدٍ، عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ سِيرِينَ، عَنْ أَبِي الْمُهَلَّبِ، عَنْ عِمْرَانَ بْنِ حُصَيْنٍ، قَالَ قَالَ لَنَا رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صلى الله عليه وسلم ‏ "‏ إِنَّ أَخَاكُمُ النَّجَاشِيَّ قَدْ مَاتَ فَقُومُوا فَصَلُّوا عَلَيْهِ ‏"‏ ‏.‏ قَالَ فَقُمْنَا فَصَفَفْنَا كَمَا يُصَفُّ عَلَى الْمَيِّتِ وَصَلَّيْنَا عَلَيْهِ كَمَا يُصَلَّى عَلَى الْمَيِّتِ ‏.‏ وَفِي الْبَابِ عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ وَجَابِرِ بْنِ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ وَأَبِي سَعِيدٍ وَحُذَيْفَةَ بْنِ أَسِيدٍ وَجَرِيرِ بْنِ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ ‏.‏ قَالَ أَبُو عِيسَى هَذَا حَدِيثٌ حَسَنٌ صَحِيحٌ غَرِيبٌ مِنْ هَذَا الْوَجْهِ ‏.‏ وَقَدْ رَوَاهُ أَبُو قِلاَبَةَ عَنْ عَمِّهِ أَبِي الْمُهَلَّبِ عَنْ عِمْرَانَ بْنِ حُصَيْنٍ ‏.‏ وَأَبُو الْمُهَلَّبِ اسْمُهُ عَبْدُ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنُ عَمْرٍو وَيُقَالُ مُعَاوِيَةُ بْنُ عَمْرٍو ‏.‏
Abu Salamah, Yahya bin Khalaf, and Humayd bin Masada told us, they said: Bishr bin al-Mufaddal told us, Yunus bin Ubaid told us, on the authority of Muhammad bin Sirin, on the authority of Abu Al-Muhallab, on the authority of Imran bin Husayn, he said: The Messenger of God, may God bless him and grant him peace, said to us: “Your brother Al-Najashi has died.” So stand up and pray over him.” He said, “So we stood up and lined up as one would arrange for a dead person, and we prayed over him as one would pray over a dead person. And on the authority of Ubayy.” Huraira, Jabir bin Abdullah, Abu Saeed, Hudhayfah bin Asid, and Jarir bin Abdullah. Abu Issa said this hadith. Hasan Sahih, strange in this respect. Abu Qalaba narrated it on the authority of his uncle Abu al-Muhallab on the authority of Imran bin Husayn. And Abu Al-Muhallab's name is Abd al-Rahman bin Amr, and he is also called Muawiyah bin Amr.
