Jami' at-Tirmidhi — Hadith #27299

Muhammad ibn Bashar narrated to us, Abd al-Rahman ibn Mahdi narrated to us, Hammam narrated to us, on the authority of Qatada, on the authority of al-Nadr ibn Anas, on the authority of Bashir ibn Forbidden, on the authority of Abu Hurairah, on the authority of the Prophet, may God’s prayers and peace be upon him, who said: “If a man has two wives and he does not treat them equally, the day will come when Resurrection and its half will fall.” Abu Issa said, “This hadith was only transmitted by Hammam bin Yahya on the authority of Qatada. And Hisham narrated it.” Al-Dastawa’i, on the authority of Qatada, said: It was said: We do not know of this hadith as being traced back to the Prophet except from the hadith of Hammam, and Hammam is a trustworthy and memorizer.
