Jami' at-Tirmidhi — Hadith #27391

Qutaibah narrated to us, Hammad bin Zaid narrated to us, on the authority of Ayyub, on the authority of Yusuf bin Mahak, on the authority of Hakim bin Hazzam, who said: The Messenger of God, may God bless him and grant him peace, forbade me. If it is prepared for you, then it is a sale on your behalf. Ishaq said, meaning Ibn Rahawayh, as he said, I said to Ahmad, and about selling what you did not guarantee. He said It is only with me for food as long as you do not take it. Ishaq said, as he said, regarding everything that is measured or weighed. Ahmad said, when he says, “I sell to you.” This garment, and I have to sew it and cut it, this is one of two conditions in a sale, and if he says I sell it to you and I have to sew it, then there is no problem with it or he said I will sell it to you for the short amount of it, there is no problem with it, it is only one condition.
