Jami' at-Tirmidhi — Hadith #28197

Ahmad bin Mani` told us, he said: Ismail bin Ibrahim told us, he said: Muhammad bin al-Sa'ib bin Baraka told us, on the authority of his mother, on the authority of Aisha, She said: When the Messenger of God, may God bless him and grant him peace, became ill, he would order soup to be made and it was made, then he ordered them to eat some of it, and he would say: It soothes the heart of the sad person and relieves the heart of the sick just as one of you removes dirt with water from her face.” Abu Issa said. This is a hasan and authentic hadith. It was narrated by Ibn al-Mubarak on the authority of Yunus, on the authority of al-Zuhri, on the authority of Urwa, on the authority of Aisha, on the authority of the Prophet, may God bless him and grant him peace. Al-Hussein bin Muhammad told us about that, Abu Ishaq Al-Talqani told us, on the authority of Ibn Al-Mubarak, on the authority of Yunus, on the authority of Al-Zuhri, with the same meaning.
