Jami' at-Tirmidhi — Hadith #28814

Mahmoud bin Ghaylan told us, Abu Dawud told us, Shu`bah told us, Omar bin Sulayman told us, from the descendants of Omar bin Al-Khattab, he said: I heard Abd al-Rahman ibn Aban ibn Uthman, narrating on the authority of his father, he said: Zayd ibn Thabit left Marwan’s house at midday. I heard the Messenger of God, may God bless him and grant him peace, saying, “May God bless a man who heard a hadith from us and preserved it until he conveyed it to others.” Perhaps a carrier of jurisprudence is directed to someone who is more knowledgeable than him, and perhaps a carrier of jurisprudence is not a jurist.” And on the authority of Abdullah bin Masoud and Muadh. Ibn Jabal, Jubayr Ibn Mutim, Abu Ad-Darda’, and Anas. Abu Issa said the hadith of Zayd ibn Thabit is a hasan hadith.
