Jami' at-Tirmidhi — Hadith #29168

Yahya bin Habib bin Arabi told us, Musa bin Ibrahim bin Kathir Al-Ansari told us, he said, I heard Talha bin Kharash, he said, I heard Jabir bin Abdullah. He said that the Messenger of God, may God bless him and grant him peace, met me and said to me, “O Jabir, why do I see you broken?” I said, “O Messenger.” My father was martyred. He was killed on the day of Uhud, leaving behind children and a debt. He said, “Shall I not bring you good tidings of what God met your father with?” He said, “Yes, oh.” Messenger of God. He said, “God has never spoken to anyone except from behind a veil. And He brought your father back to life, and He spoke to him earnestly and said, ‘O my servant, have faith.’” I will give it to you. He said, ‘O Lord, revive me, so I will die for you a second time.’ The Lord, the Almighty and Majestic, said, ‘It has already been said by me that they will not return to it.’” He said: This verse was revealed: (And do not think that those who were killed in the cause of God are dead.) Abu Issa said this. It is a strange and hasan hadith from this perspective, and we do not know it except from the hadith of Musa bin Ibrahim, and it was narrated by Ali bin Abdullah bin Al-Madini and others.
