Jami' at-Tirmidhi — Hadith #29409

Bundar told us, Muhammad bin Jaafar told us, Shu’bah told us, on the authority of Abd al-Malik bin Maysara, he said I heard a peacock, he said Ibn Abbas, about this verse: (Say, “I do not ask you for any reward for it except affection for my kin.” Sa’id bin Jubayr said, “I am a relative of the family of Muhammad, may God bless him and grant him peace.”) May God bless him and grant him peace. Ibn Abbas said, “Do you know that the Messenger of God, may God bless him and grant him peace, was not a member of the Quraysh except that he had a kinship among them?” He said, “Unless you pray.” There is no kinship between me and you. Abu Issa said: This is a hasan and authentic hadith. It was narrated in more than one way, on the authority of Ibn Abbas.
