Jami' at-Tirmidhi — Hadith #29474

Abd bin Humayd told us, Ja’far bin Aoun told us, Abu Janab Al-Kalbi told us, on the authority of Al-Dahhak bin Muzahim, on the authority of Ibn Abbas, may God be pleased with them both. He said: Whoever has money that would enable him to perform Hajj to his Lord’s house or for which zakat is obligatory on him, and he does not do that, will ask for a return upon death. Then a man said, “O Ibn Abbas, fear God. He only asked the unbelievers to bring back. He said, ‘I will recite to you with that a Qur’an’: (O you who have believed, do not Let neither your wealth nor your children distract you from the remembrance of God: (And spend of what We have provided for you before death approaches any of you. ) To his saying: (And God is Aware of what you do.) He said: What necessitates zakat? He said: If the money reaches two hundred dirhams or more. He said: What necessitates Hajj? The provisions and the camel said. Abdul bin Humaid told us, Abdul Razzaq told us, on the authority of Al-Thawri, on the authority of Yahya bin Abi Hayya, on the authority of Al-Dahhak, on the authority of Ibn Abbas, on the authority of the Prophet, may God’s prayers and peace be upon him, in a similar manner. And he said: This is how Sufyan bin Uyaynah, and more than one person, narrated this. The hadith on the authority of Abu Janab, on the authority of Al-Dahhak, on the authority of Ibn Abbas, his statement, but he did not narrate it. This is more correct than the narration of Abd al-Razzaq. And Abu The butcher’s name is Yahya bin Abi Hayya, and he is not strong in hadith.
