Jami' at-Tirmidhi — Hadith #29482

Muhammad bin Yahya told us, Muhammad bin Yusuf told us, Israel told us, Abu Ishaq told us, on the authority of Sa`id bin Jubayr, on the authority of Ibn Abbas, he said: The jinn would ascend to heaven listening to the revelation, and when they heard the word, they would add nine times to it. As for the word, it would be True, and as for what they added to it, it is false. When the Messenger of God, may God bless him and grant him peace, was sent, they were prevented from their seats, so they mentioned that to Satan, and the stars were not aimed at. It was there before that, and Satan said to them, “This is nothing but something that happened on earth.” So he sent his soldiers, and they found the Messenger of God, may God bless him and grant him peace. May God bless him and grant him peace, standing and praying between two mountains. I see him. He said, “In Mecca.” So they brought him and informed him. He said, “This is what happened on earth.” He said, “This is a good and authentic hadith.” .
