Ahmad bin Abdah al-Dhabi told us, he said, Hammad bin Zayd told us, on the authority of Ayoub, on the authority of Abu Uthman al-Nahdi, on the authority of Abu Musa al-Ash’ari, he said I set out with the Prophet, may God’s prayers and peace be upon him, and he entered an Ansar’s enclosure and relieved himself. He said to me, “O Abu Musa, let me stand at the gate.” They should not enter upon anyone except by permission.” Then a man came knocking on the door, and I said, “Who is this?” Abu Bakr said. So I said, “O Messenger.” By God, this is Abu Bakr asking permission. He said, “Give him permission and give him good tidings of Paradise.” So he entered and I gave him good tidings of Paradise, and a man came. Another one knocked on the door So I said, “Who is this?” He said, “Omar.” So I said, “O Messenger of God, this is Omar asking for permission.” He said, “Open for him and give him good news of Paradise.” So I opened the door and he entered and I gave him good news of Paradise. Then another man came and knocked on the door. I said, “Who is this?” Uthman said. So I said, O Messenger of God. This is Othman He asked for permission. He said, “Open it for him and give him good tidings of Paradise despite the calamity that befalls him.” Abu Issa said: This is a good and authentic hadith. It was narrated on the authority of Abu Uthman al-Nahdi, and on the authority of Jabir and Ibn Umar.
